RTA Route and circulator options
"Ihis study proposes a new regulaz servia mute along Brookpazk Road,
from Columbia Rnad to Lorain Rnad, to increase connection to the ezisting
retail centers. An expansion of the circulator system along Lorain Road to
the axiscing stop at North Olmsted Pazk is aLso proposed. Current funding,
ridership and route reductions at RTA make the implemcntation of this
recommendation unlikely in the near future.
Addition/renovation of bus stops and shelters
Incteasing the qualiry of csisting bus stop, updating the appcarancc of cxisting
shdters to create more user friendly waiting rnduonments is central to thc
transit recommendations of this srudy. New or improved shelters azc shown
at the entry to North Olmsud Park, at the intcrsection of Lorain Road and
Grrat Northern Boulevard, along thc new Bmokpazk Road regulaz service
route, at the ttaffic signal close co Walmart as well as a shelur close to the Grrat
Northern Mall entrana drive. Additional enhanced waiting environments aze
proposed at the intersxrion of Butternut Ridge Road and Dovcr Ccnter Road
and along Country Club Boulevard close to the Mall entrana ncar Dillazd's.
Further study of RTA ridership in North Olmsud should be wnducted co
create a priority list of stops and sheltors. The study can identify which stops
need physical improvements and additional amenities, where shdters may bc
relocated to match current ridership or where ncw shelters could be added.
A ,.??...
to
?
D.M,.?....
¦ ¦ t W 6run
m ?i.lf4.+e++I wri
14 1 'Ihe Great Northem Multi Modal Transportation Plan
Figure 19: RTAhealthlinebusshelierin
downrown C/eveland
Fig ure 20: eus shelter with solar panels
Figure 21: Proposed RTA routes and stops
