?.?, v rt~
?
4.?. .
?,-
?
Also shown is a pedesuian/bike path beginning at Cedar Point Road at
the entry to the Metroparks, running down Columbia Road to thc ncw
bilce paths on Buttunut Ridgc Road. Considcration should aLso be given
to extending the pedestrian and birycle path along Lorain Road to create
an additional connection to Bradley Woods, linking thc two Metmpazks
through North Olmsted.
A second pedesuian/bike path improvcment (Figure 27a) is shown
beginning at the intersection of Victoria Lane and Buttunut Ridgc,
heading norrh thmugh the Great Northern Plazas across Brookpazk and
Lotain Roads making a connection to the current rxreation centet.
?he third pedesuian/bike path improvement begins at the intersection
of Victoria Lane and hcads east along Country Club Boulevard,
connecting with the existing bike path at the creadon of a new pocket
pazk and continues across Grrat Northem Boulevard, adjacent to I-480
to points east. Comprehensive meetscape imprwements would facilitate
this recommendation and should include pedesuian amcnities as wcll
crosswalk unprovements to allow greater accccs across Country Club
Boulcvard.
Additional of points of intenest along the pedesttian/bike path include
gathering areas> signage, bencha, uash rcceptacles, water fountains and
exezcise stations. Lighting along paths> a wmprehensive sign package
and public art will add a sense of safcry to the pedestrian/birycle systun
for residentc who run, bike> rollerblade and wallc. Bike racks should be
included at key azeas of interest and bus stops.

?
North Olmsted, Ohio 1 17
Figure 30: Bicycle and pedes[rian improvements
Figure 27: Connecting the Recreation to the
Communiry
Figure 29: Ameniiies for 6ikers;
water fountain
Figure 28: Bike racks
