???r+!
? ... ?T-1

The goal of the Greac Northun Mula Modal Transportarion Plan
(GNMMTP) is to enhance the communiry's quality of life, facilitate
accessibility and transporration choices such as transit, walking, and biking,
and to unprove the safety and efficienry of the cxisting transportation system
while enhandng the aesthetic intcrest of the area.
The ezisting condirions analysis and public input phase helpcd to idendfy
deficiencies and svggest potential remedies. We were able to consider valuable
public and committee input to furcher aplore possible remedies to begin and
further refine the solutions presentcd in this report.
The GNMMTP provides a transit, pedestrian and bicycle vision of the
solutions required to solve the disconnea of local and regional desciaarions,
in and around the srudy area, and imprwe the vehicular ua&c flow by
appropriate traffic signal timing, modified speed limits, and facilitating the
bicycle and pedestrian options.
Improving the public transportarion waicing environmentc, adding circulator
routes and 'unproving the bicycle and pedesuian connection to the Park-and-
Ride, and other bus stops, can help encourage the use of public transportauon,
thus reducing the vehiculaz pressure on the area.
Thc study azea sits between two regional
metroparks, The Rocky River Rcservadon and
Bradlry Woods. 'Ihe Map above highlights
the prioriry rouees within North Olmsted to
imprwe acccss and connccriviry.
Crcating birycle and pedestrian conaectivity with new bike routcs, new
and 'unproved destinarions, and new lighting, signage and landscaping can
encourage biryclc and pedesuian travd throughout and around the srudy azea
This will not only improve the imagc and awareness of the benefits of the azea,
but may also contribute to the reduccion of single occupanry vchicle use.
This study has not ignored the benefits to private development of enhanced
transportarion options. Thc project has sparked suppon from Westfield Great
Norrhern in improving the birycle and pedestrian access to the mall propury.
Improved conaection to this valuable resource will help renew economic
vitality and increase local awareness of biryde and pedatrian users, while
possibly reducing vehiculaz traff'ic pressure.
1.02 Existing Conditions Analysls and Public Input
The GNMMTP analyud current vchicle, transit, bicycle and pedestrian aaffic
patterns of the Ciry of North Olmstcd, with the purpose of presenting viable
solurions to improve the connecrivity and vitaliry of the Ciry. The study
analyzed the devdopment of transporcation infrascrurnuc ova the years to
respond to the City's growth. Unfortunatdy, community disconnxts and
vehicle congestion was the result of this growth.
6 1 'Ihe Great Northem Multi Moda( Transportation Plan
Figure 2: Cuyahoga County Bicycle Facility
Priority Plan
