PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINiJTES FOR JANUARY 14, 8009 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Laslco called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. in Council Caucus room and led the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />Present: John Lasko, Melissa Meredith, Jim Cotner, Angela Williamson, Greg Malone, Don <br />Rerko, Ralph Bohlmann <br />Staff: Planning Director Kiin Wenger, City Engineer Dan Collins, Assistant Law Director <br />Bryan O'Malley, Clerlc of Commissions Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND CO1tRECTION OF 1VIINUTES <br />Mr. Laslco moved, seconded by Mr. Rerko, to approve the Planning & Design Commission <br />minutes of DecemUer 10, 2008, which was unanimously approved 7-0. <br />COMMISSION ORGANIZA'I'ION <br />Chair and Vice Chair <br />Mrs. Meredith moved, seconded by Mr. Bohlmann, to elect John Laslco as Chair for 2009 which <br />was unanimously approved 7-0. <br />Mr. Rerlco inoved, seconded by Ms. Willamson, to elect Melissa Meredith as Vice Chair for <br />2009. Roll call: Laslco, Willamson, Malone, Rerlco, Bohlmann - yes; Cotner - no. Motion <br />approved 6-1. <br />Landmarks Commission appointment <br />Mr. Laslco said he enjoyed serving on the Landmarlcs Corrunission and would like to continue to <br />do so. He reviewed recent efforts of the Landmarlcs Commission including a cemetery <br />improvernent project led by SITES student Phil Tomko. The Commission discussed the project <br />and Mr. Bohlmann recalled some information that might be available in the City from his time as <br />Service Director. <br />Mrs. Meredith moved, seconded by Mr. Bohlmann, to appoint John Laslco as the appointment to <br />the Landmarks Commission for 2009 which was unanimously approved 7-0. <br />Review Rules and Regulations <br />Mr. Laslco said the rules were up to date. Mr. O'Malley suggested the commission consider <br />establishing a specific date or timeframe when tabling a project to ensure their review time is not <br />exceeded nor allow applicants the opportunity to prolong their review time. Commissioners <br />agreed that timeframes should be set when tabling a project. A brief discussion ensued regarding
