PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MINiJTES FOR JANUARY 14, 8009 ROLL CALL Mr. Laslco called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. in Council Caucus room and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Present: John Lasko, Melissa Meredith, Jim Cotner, Angela Williamson, Greg Malone, Don Rerko, Ralph Bohlmann Staff: Planning Director Kiin Wenger, City Engineer Dan Collins, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, Clerlc of Commissions Donna Rote REVIEW AND CO1tRECTION OF 1VIINUTES Mr. Laslco moved, seconded by Mr. Rerko, to approve the Planning & Design Commission minutes of DecemUer 10, 2008, which was unanimously approved 7-0. COMMISSION ORGANIZA'I'ION Chair and Vice Chair Mrs. Meredith moved, seconded by Mr. Bohlmann, to elect John Laslco as Chair for 2009 which was unanimously approved 7-0. Mr. Rerlco inoved, seconded by Ms. Willamson, to elect Melissa Meredith as Vice Chair for 2009. Roll call: Laslco, Willamson, Malone, Rerlco, Bohlmann - yes; Cotner - no. Motion approved 6-1. Landmarks Commission appointment Mr. Laslco said he enjoyed serving on the Landmarlcs Corrunission and would like to continue to do so. He reviewed recent efforts of the Landmarlcs Commission including a cemetery improvernent project led by SITES student Phil Tomko. The Commission discussed the project and Mr. Bohlmann recalled some information that might be available in the City from his time as Service Director. Mrs. Meredith moved, seconded by Mr. Bohlmann, to appoint John Laslco as the appointment to the Landmarks Commission for 2009 which was unanimously approved 7-0. Review Rules and Regulations Mr. Laslco said the rules were up to date. Mr. O'Malley suggested the commission consider establishing a specific date or timeframe when tabling a project to ensure their review time is not exceeded nor allow applicants the opportunity to prolong their review time. Commissioners agreed that timeframes should be set when tabling a project. A brief discussion ensued regarding
