Ms. Milush said the <br />welcome back sign is a 48%Z square foot sign which they would like to have over the entry door. <br />Ms. Rudolph understood the height of the south elevation sign but not the east elevation as it <br />faces another building so why not meet code. Ms. Milush said it's more economical to order one <br />size sign. Mrs. Sergi believed the two wall signs were warranted but the welcome back sign was <br />not. All board members opposed a third wall sign. Mr. Mitchell said the paclcage did not <br />include the welcome back wall sign or its dimensions therefore the write-up would need to be <br />amended. Mr. Gareau advised the board they could chose to address the request as written, <br />amend the request to include the additional wall sign or table the additional wall sign until <br />detailed plans are submitted. Board members did not believe a third wall sign was warranted and <br />agreed to address the submittal as written. Mr. Gareau advised the applicant that they would <br />have to reapply for the third wall sign if they wished to proceed. Ms. Milush said they would not <br />seek the third wall sign as it was clear the board was against the sign. <br />1VIs. Rudolph moved, seconded by Mrs. Bellido, to grant Applebee's of 5010 Great <br />Northern Plaza North the following variances: <br />1. A 1 foot 7%Z inch heYght variance for a wall sign (east) higher than allowed; code permits <br />41, applicant shows 5' 7%z", section 1163.28(c). <br />2. A 1 foot 71/Z inch height varfance for a wall sign (south) hagher than allowed; code <br />permits 41, applicant shows 5' 7%2", section 1163.28(c). <br />3. A variance for 1 additional wall sign; code permits 1 applicant shows 2, section <br />1136.28(a). <br />4. A 42 square foot variance for excessive square footage of wall signs on a unit; code <br />permits 93 sq ft applicant shows 135 sq ft, section 1163.25(c). <br />The motion was approved 4-0. <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />Ms. Rudolph moved seconded by Mrs. Bellido, to excuse Mr. Lopez's absence which was <br />approved 4-0. <br />further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m. <br />nna Rote, erk of Commissions <br />* There is no audio recording of this meeting <br />4 <br />? <br />c 2- 4
