Art Show/Northern Ohio Music Festival
Mr. Kepperley said that the merger of the art show and music festival would require a change in
the name of the event and the creation of a new logo. He had to submit information to the Ohio
Arts Council by October 1, so the new name will not be included there. He also said that the
information on the art show flyer would not need to change, but the new name could be
incorporated. Mr. Schumann said he thought a generic name would be best, to leave open the
event for future growth. He gave some background on the Northern Ohio Music Festival and its
two year history.
The Commission discussed a number of possible names for the event. The general consensus
was that it should represent the area, perhaps using the word Olmsted or Frostville. It was
thought the word Olmsted encompassed the area and referred to the community. Possible names
include Olmsted Festival of the Arts or Olmsted Arts Festival. It was agreed that representatives
of the Commission should meet with the music festival organizers to determine a mutually
agreeable name and that the meeting should talce place as soon as possible.
Mr. Schumann discussed the need to attract sponsors for the event. He described past year's
efforts in producing t-shirts and current efforts to identify big sponsors. The Auto Mile declined
to sponsor, citing they focus their efforts on education, police and fire. The Metroparlcs has been
helpful for other Frostville events and might be a possible partner.
Next steps will be organizing a joint art show/music festival coordinator meeting, devising an
appropriate event name and creating an event logo for use in banners and other PR.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Dover PlaYers
Mrs. Martindale reported that rehearsals were ongoing for A Question of Guilt. The play would
involve audience participation that would change the outcome of the production from night to
night. The play will run on October 29-31, November 5-7, and November 12-14. Show times
are Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00pm and Sundays at 6:00pm.
ADJOURNIdIEloTT
Mr. Kepperley moved, seconded by Mr. Wahl, to adjourn the aneeting at 7:50 p.m., which
was approved 5-0.
?
eral Yustick; Chair ?onna Rote, Clerlc of Commission'
Approved:
&l3/0
