time necessary to set-up and break down the state between shows. Mr. Schumann said it takes <br />approximately 15 minutes to switch equipment between bands. Mr. Schumann's band will open <br />the show in the first date and act as a stand-in if needed on the second concert date. <br />1VIr. Wahl moved, seconded by Mr. Yustick, to approve the band Dangus Kincaid to <br />perform at the ParkFest concerts, which was approved, 4-0. <br />City Iiall Ai-t Gallery Proieet <br />Ms. Wenger reported one completed application has been submitted. The project information <br />has been distributed to seniors at the North Olmsted Senior Center and to the high school. She <br />encouraged the commissioners to help promote the project. The question of whether applicants <br />had to be City of North Olmsted has been raised. Although it's desirable to showcase City <br />residents, as is the current policy, if applications are few opening it up to other area artists should <br />be considered. It will be important to respond to all applicants, both those who are accepted and <br />those who are not. <br />The art hanging systems are costly; the City has purchased two six-foot hanging systems. One <br />can be installed in the first floor lobby; the other may be broken into two parts for other areas. <br />Some artwork may be hung directly on the wall. Once the initial work of installing the hardware <br />is complete, future displays will be easier. The duration of the displays can be determined by the <br />number of entries. Getting the word out into the community will be important to the success of <br />this initiative. Mr. Yustick will attempt to make contact with the artists to let them know about <br />the City Hall project. <br />Asian Festival, May 22, 2010 <br />Ms. Starner reported when she first spoke to the various businesses about the festival they were <br />interested and enthusiastic. However, she has received very little response from her letters and <br />follow-up calls. A festival representative said booths may be shared with another business or <br />organization. Ms. Starner will be exploring a few options. Mr. Yustick said he might be <br />interested in sharing the booth for his art framing business. From her work with the pre-school <br />PTA she has many costumes and has considered wearing them for at least part of the festival. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Homecoming Festival <br />With three meeting dates before Homecoming, Ms. Wenger requested the commissioners <br />consider contributing to City's presentation in some way. Last year Cultural Activities, through <br />Dover Players, participated in the parade. She would like to continue the momentum from last <br />years' Village Centennial Birthday Party and plan another interactive, fun community event. <br />The City has use of the big tent for one of the evenings. All the food and funding for last year's <br />event was donated. Once again, the City does not have the budget to support the Homecoming <br />event. An event idea would need to be something people are willing to support through
