time necessary to set-up and break down the state between shows. Mr. Schumann said it takes
approximately 15 minutes to switch equipment between bands. Mr. Schumann's band will open
the show in the first date and act as a stand-in if needed on the second concert date.
1VIr. Wahl moved, seconded by Mr. Yustick, to approve the band Dangus Kincaid to
perform at the ParkFest concerts, which was approved, 4-0.
City Iiall Ai-t Gallery Proieet
Ms. Wenger reported one completed application has been submitted. The project information
has been distributed to seniors at the North Olmsted Senior Center and to the high school. She
encouraged the commissioners to help promote the project. The question of whether applicants
had to be City of North Olmsted has been raised. Although it's desirable to showcase City
residents, as is the current policy, if applications are few opening it up to other area artists should
be considered. It will be important to respond to all applicants, both those who are accepted and
those who are not.
The art hanging systems are costly; the City has purchased two six-foot hanging systems. Getting the word out into the community will be important to the success of
this initiative. Mr. Yustick will attempt to make contact with the artists to let them know about
the City Hall project.
Asian Festival, May 22, 2010
Ms. Starner reported when she first spoke to the various businesses about the festival they were
interested and enthusiastic. However, she has received very little response from her letters and
follow-up calls. A festival representative said booths may be shared with another business or
organization. Ms. Starner will be exploring a few options. Mr. Yustick said he might be
interested in sharing the booth for his art framing business. From her work with the pre-school
PTA she has many costumes and has considered wearing them for at least part of the festival.
NEW BUSINESS
Homecoming Festival
With three meeting dates before Homecoming, Ms. Wenger requested the commissioners
consider contributing to City's presentation in some way. Last year Cultural Activities, through
Dover Players, participated in the parade. She would like to continue the momentum from last
years' Village Centennial Birthday Party and plan another interactive, fun community event.
The City has use of the big tent for one of the evenings. All the food and funding for last year's
event was donated. Once again, the City does not have the budget to support the Homecoming
event. An event idea would need to be something people are willing to support through
