.? <br />They will be told that their music must be appropriate for all audiences and they cannot sell <br />merchandise in the park. Commission members were interested in supporting this event. They <br />would like to hear samples of the proposed music and approve the bands. This should be done at <br />the next meeting in order to have sufficient time for marketing the event. <br />Mr. Kepperley moved, seconded lby Ms. Brown, that the Cultural Activities Commission <br />host the Concert in the Park, which was approved 5-0. <br />Citv Hall Art Gallery Proiect <br />Mr. Yustick said he has researched the cost of hardware for hanging the art. He and Mrs. Brown <br />will work on the criteria for artists and art submissions. There was discussion on limiting the <br />submissions or giving priority to North Olmsted artists. The content would need to be approved <br />by the Commission. Ms. Wenger will identify those areas in City Hall where art would be <br />appropriate. <br />Community Garden Proiect <br />Ms. Wenger reported that she was submitting a grant application for $5,000 towards a <br />community garden, which will be located at City property on Butternut Ridge Road. The garden <br />will be managed by the North Olmsted Master Gardeners. Anyone interested can get involved in <br />the project, which should .begin in May. <br />Ms. Wenger also announced that the City was working on a new project called the Seeds of <br />Change Project. Initiated by Senior Center Administrator Jackie Chavez Anderson, the first goal <br />of the project is to plant forty trees in the City to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. <br />Donations will be accepted for trees, plants and flowers to beautify the City. Collections not <br />used this year will be earmarked for future City beautification projects. A small committee has <br />formed to promote the project; volunteers and donations are welcome. <br />Communitv Council, Royal Ambassador Program <br />Mr. Kepperley reported that a committee had been formed to look into the possibility of <br />establishing a student ambassador program, but they have not yet met. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Asian Festival <br />Mrs. Starner said the Cleveland Asian Festival will be held on Saturday, May 22, which will be <br />held in Cleveland's Asia Town. Mrs. Starner said this festival could be an opportunity to <br />showcase North Olmsted's Asian businesses. Informational booths cost $50. Donations could <br />be solicited to cover the cost of the booth. Ms. Wenger suggested contacting the North Olmsted <br />Chamber of Commerce.
