Citv Hall Art Gallery Proiect
The idea is to solicit art donations to display in City Hall, providing recognition to the artist.
Areas under consideration are the lobby, the stairwell, and the second floor area outside of
Council Chambers. Mr. Yustick said he would be willing to maintain the display but inquired as
to the source of funding for the necessary hardware; he estimates $200 per track system. He will
research prices and develop guidelines for the contest. Ms. Wenger said while working on
another project the idea of a photo contest for City postcazds was suggested. The postcards
could be included in new resident packets. Mr. Kepperley said the photo contest could be made
part of the art show. Methods for publicizing the project to local photographers and additional
ways to feature the winning photos were discussed.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Dover Plavers Update
Ms. Martindale reported the current musical, Shape, has been very successful. The shows have
been sold out. Rehearsals for a Sherlock Holmes play will begin soon. Ms. Martindale
explained her philosophy of theater; it should be something available to all people who might not
ordinarily be able to see a live play. Therefore the shows are free and donations accepted.
Local Events
Mr. Kepperley announced the High School is presenting three one-act plays the weekend of
February 19, 20, and 21. The Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast is February 6. Mayor Kennedy said
his office is working on a plan to provide City news via Twitter and other new methods. Once in
place these types of events may be promoted in new ways.
ADJOUlaNMENT
Mr. Wahl moved, seconded by Mr. Kepperley, to adjourn the meeting at 7:35 p.m., which was
unanimously approved.
, C, ir
4cGJe Li4
Approved:
3?D 3 //0
ricia A.
