LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH ULMSTED <br />MEETING MINUTES OF OCTOBER 11, 2010 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers and Mr. Dubowslci <br />led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, Tom Dubowski, Dale Thomas, Don Rerko, Maryellen Davis, <br />David Neville <br />Absent: John Lasko, Albert Richner, Marlc Mahoney <br />Staff: Director of Planning and Development Kimberly Wenger, Clerk of Commissions <br />Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mrs. Davis moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to approve the August 9, 2010 minutes, <br />which was approved 6-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Ohio Historical Markers <br />Mr. Schumann said the final wording for the Frostville historical marker was approved and noted <br />-- that Mr. Thomas worked with the Columbus office to finalize the marker. The Olmsted <br />Historical Society is providing the funds to purchase the marker which will be installed in front <br />of Frostville Museum. They will have an unveiling event once the marker is received which <br />includes hanging the Preserve America certificate. Mr. Thomas said they found out the Olmsted <br />Historical Society was incorporated in 1961 not 1960. <br />Cemeterv Improvement Plan <br />Ms. Wenger said the project was progressing over thP summer however with school starting and <br />increased workload it has slowed down. Mr. Schumann said the Olmsted Historical Society has <br />discussed the possibility of a fundraiser next year for the cemetery project. The Frostville <br />schedule was currently being set therefore dates need to be discussed. Mrs. Davis suggested <br />having a cemetery tour around the Halloween season. <br />Landmarks Guidelines Task Force <br />Mr. Neville reviewed the work of the task force to compile the guidelines submitted. In writing <br />the guidelines they wanted them to be informative and simple to understand. The guidelines note <br />that any home constructed prior to the late 1970s probably has lead and asbestos. Wording is <br />geared to encouraging owners to maintain the architectural design of their home. Ms. Wenger <br />suggested reformatting the guidelines into a pamphlet for easy distribution. Mrs. Davis <br />suggested moving the last two paragraphs to the beginning as it explains the purpose of the
