_r , <br />LANDMARKS COMIVIISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MEETING MINUTES OF JUNE 14, 2010 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:13 p.m. in Council Chambers and Mr. Dubowski <br />led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, Tom Dubowslci, Maryellen Davis, Dale Thomas, Don Rerko <br />Absent: Albei-t Richner, Marlc Mahoney, David Neville, John Lasko <br />Staff: Director of Planning Kimberly Wenger, Assistant Director of Law Bryan <br />O'Malley <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Dubowslci moved, seconded by Mrs. Davis, to approve the May 10, 2010 minutes, <br />which were approved 5-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Rules of Procedure <br />Rules of Procedure were approved at the last meeting. The revised document has been <br />distributed to the Landmarks Coinmissioners. <br />Ohio Historical Marlcers <br />Mr. Thomas reported that a marlcer dedication ceremony was held at the Olmsted Unitarian <br />Universalist Church on May 30 and he and Mr. Schumann said a few words regarding the history <br />and architecture of the building. Representative Kucinich and other public officials were in <br />attendance. The marlcer is prominently located along Porter Road and the church members are <br />proud of the award. <br />The grant was not awarded for the Frostville marlcer. The OHS will go ahead with the marlcer <br />and will pay the entire amount towards it. Mr. Thomas expects to hear from the Ohio Historical <br />Society soon when discussion will ensue regarding the appropriate text for the marker. The <br />target date is in September for a marlcer dedication ceremony in conjunction with naming <br />ceremonies for some of the buildings in recognition of local volunteers and donors. This week <br />the Chamber of Commerce will be meeting at Frostville. In July, the Northeast Ohio Inter <br />Museum Council will be meeting at the site for dinner and all of the houses will be open. <br />Cemetery Improvement Plan <br />Ms. Wenger reported that the surveying and stalcing of the two cemeteries is nearly complete. <br />City Intern Phil Tomlco, who has been worlcing on economic development projects, will begin to <br />devote some tiine to cemetery related taslcs.
