- as previously discussed and includes the removal of the existing non-ADA compliant ramp and <br />replacement with a platform lift, which would be more appropriate to the existing space than an <br />ADA ramp, along with repair of door openings, masonry, and caulking. The grant request is due <br />March 1. The design professional and contractors will be required to have historic preservation <br />certifications. The Building Improvement Land Acquisition fund would be used for the 40% <br />matching funds. Other improvements may be listed as alternates in the construction documents, <br />which could be added if the project costs are lower than estimated. For the best probability of <br />success in being awarded this grant, Ms. Wenger feels the request should not stray far from the <br />goal of ADA improvements and historic preservation. Before final submittal Ms. Wenger will <br />review the substance of the grant request with the grant manager. If letters of support will help <br />she will request a letter from the Olmsted Historic Society. Old Town Hall is used for many <br />public and civic meetings and events such as Dover Players events, English as a Second <br />Language classes, the City's food cupboard, archive storage, and others. <br />Speaker Series - hosted bv First Universalist Church <br />Event flyers for the March 11 Landmarks presentation at Olmsted Unitarian Church were <br />distributed to the commissioners for distribution. To stay within the one hour time frame Mr. <br />Thomas has chosen to deal primarily with the period before the Civil War and war itself. On <br />another occasion he would like to present a Part 2. A SITES student will be sought to film the <br />presentation. Mr. Schumann said the high school has equipment to create slides of the photos <br />and record Mr. Thomas' voice over them. He will talk to Dr. Doug Sebring about having this <br />done.
