address it at a later date. They would like to have the development plan approved so they can
proceed and if changes are required they would be made and new plan submitted. To address
outdoor storage they will eliminate it so the development can move forward and will submit it
later through the permit process. They have time constraints from the owners which must be met
which include receiving approvals. They will address all engineering issues to ensure they meet
code. Mr. Rerko said the canopy lacks detail. He understands there will be propane and ice sold
outdoors but does not believe there is a need for the vending machines at the site. He aslced if
there would be trash cans at the pumps and around the building and Mr. Bishop said there would
be at both areas and noted that the kiosk would only sell snacks and soda. Mr. Rerko did not feel
vending machines were warranted with the kiosk selling items and the store so close. Mr.
Malone said he would like to have the following plant sizes: dwarf burning bush at 30" to 36",
Bradmore Juniper at 5 gallon, Honey Locust at 2%2" caliper and Spring Snow Crab Apple at 21/2
caliper. He asked if the landscaping throughout the site would be irrigated as it is not noted and
advised that it is required by code. Mr. Bishop said they would provide irrigation. Board
inemUers disliked having vending machines outdoors and said if vending machines would be
located at the site they should be enclosed and not visible from the street. Mr. O'Malley said that
if the applicants return with outdoor, sales, the commission could address the manner in which
they could be at the site now. Ms. Wenger said if vending machines are at the site they could be
located in a shielded area along the north side of the kiosk to minimize visibility.
Mr. Majeed said they would address outdoor storage as a minor change at a later date. Mr.
Bohlmann felt any outdoor items should be behind a screened wall. Mr. Parry did not feel the
outdoor sales should be addressed later as a standard sidewallc width would not meet code if
outdoor machines are installed nor could it be a minor change because the sidewallcs would be
required to be increased in size which could not be done after the design is approved. The
applicants should state if the sidewallcs will be designed to handle the machines and meet code,
eliininate any outdoor sales or the case should be tabled until the outdoor sale items are resolved.
Mr. Parry asked if detailed elevations were submitted for the kiosk and canopy. He asked what
materials and colors would be used as they were not listed nor were samples provided. Mr.
Majeed said the canopy would be metal, the colors would be as shown and the kiosk briclc. The
canopy will have no logos or inlaid graphics. Mr. Parry aslced if lighting cut sheets were
suUmitted and if the lights would be full cutoffs. Mr. Majeed said the lighting would be standard
down lights but could not say for sure what type of light it would be. A discussion pertaining to
tabling the matter ensued and the applicants were advised that final approval by Council would
not be delayed by returning for further review. Applicants should return with detailed plans
inchiding landscaping, detailed elevations including diinensions, signage, light cut sheets,
photoinetric which meets code, details of any outdoor storage, a materials list and color samples.
Mr. Bishop aslced if the Commission was against the plan to have a GetGo station and they
assured the applicant they loolced forward to having the GetGo in North Olmsted.
Mrs.lVIeredith moved, seconded by 1VIr.1VIalone, to table CMS10-33: GetGo IFuel Station of
27264 Lorain Road, which was approved 6-0.
COMIVIUNICATION
Ms. Wenger said that Landmarks Commission was Ueginning the process of having a Porter
3
