r .`
strategically placed around the site to deflect the lights from cars. We have added a number of
birch, pine, and evergreen trees at your request as well as the Architectural review boards, as
indicated on page SP-2. We have added evergreens that will run along the fence line of the
abutting neighbors to the east. Evergreens have also been added to the driveway that runs east to
west at the boards request. Architectural review board had also asked us to move the lights along
the driveway from the north side to the south side which we have done. We have baffled all the A
style light fixtures that will be facing south, so they will only shine towards the parking lot.
Fixtures B which will be located at the emergency door exits, are placed high, and have a very
high cut-off which will only lighten the pad outside the emergency door. The board on board
fence will start on the south east entrance of our site and continue west along the abutting
property lines, and will end on the south west end of our property. At the last Planning
commission meeting there was talk of doing some mounding instead of fencing. Mr. Wendell the
City forester indicated he didn't want mounds used to buffer lights and sounds. Mr. Wendell felt
it would cause water trouble, and to many trees would have to be removed. We feel that the
fence will better serve everyone involved, as it will cut down on light spillage from cars. You
have seen the elevations, and we have incorporated all the suggestions made by Planning
commission, the Architectural review board, and have submitted a detailed list of all the materials
that will be used. They have not been changed from what you see now. We would respectfully
request that we be allowed to move on to BZD. Mr. Tallon inquired about the suggestion the
board made regarding moving either the building, or the parking lot. Mr. McGettrick suggested
they had not done any repositioning or moving, but have increased the amount of brims and
landscape buffering. They fall within all the City of North Olmsteds requirements, and do not
require any variances. Mr. Tallon indicated that is not what he was asking. Mr. Bower suggested
they looked at possibly moving the building or parking lot, but found if they were moved they
would be in violation of side yard setbacks as well as front. Mr. Tallon thanked Mr. Bower for
clarifying the question he asked. Mr. Tallon asked why the additional pine trees stop at the back
of the third house that fronts on Clague Road. Mr. McGettrick indicated the reason for stopping
were they did was because, that is were the parking spaces ended. Mr. Tallon requested
Wellington to continue placing additional pine trees along the back end of the abutting houses
going south along Clague, and continuing west behind the next two (2) abutting lots. Mr.
Brennon asked why is there no sidewalk along your driveway coming into your establishment.
Shouldn't you have a sidewalk for those employees or visitors that might make use of the public
transportation. Mr. McGettrick indicated that they had never given a sidewalk a thought, but
agreed a sidewalk would be needed. Mr. Tallon stated we are trying to make the City of North
Olmsted more pedestrian orientated, and Mr. Brennon brings up a good point that some-of your
employees may use public transportation and without a sidewalk in place they will have no other
choice but to walk in the street. W. Brennon asked why the Architectural review board
requested Wellington move the lights from the north side of the driveway to the south side. Mr.
Bower responded they wanted the lights to be directed away from the abutting residents. Mr.
Tallon asked if the entrance ground sign was a back-lit sign. Mr. Bower suggested he believed it
would be exterior lighting, but not sure as they have not completed a sign package at this time.
Mr. Tallon indicated we would like to request that you do not back light this sign, and maybe
look at goose necking or things along that nature. W. Brennon asked if the board could assume
that since you plan on following the City foresters requests, to save as much natural vegetation as
you can, then your only construction entrance will be were your permanent driveway is going to
2
