rt ?
the site if the building is open. Mr. Brennan asked what is the time duration a car will sit on your
lot. Mr. Kovalchuk suggested we try to move the car inside the building as soon as possible. Mr.
Tallon asked about the lighting that would be used for the back of the building. Mr. Mills replied
a security light will be placed on the back of the building. Mr. Tallon asked for the security light
to be explained in more detail. Mr. Gulla indicated the security light will have a shield to
minimize the amount of light and will be angled to shine down so the light will not shine in the
neighbors windows. There will also be a board on board fence put up that will help shield the
light. Mr. Tallon asked what the elevation of the light would be. Mr. Gulla suggested the light
will be about 10" feet high. Mr. Tallon requested the light be totally shielded so the light only
shine down. Mrs. O'Rourke asked if the front sign would be illuminated. Mr. Kovalchuk replied
they had not gotten that far in the plans. Mr. Brennan asked what the hours of operation would
be. "Due to background noise on the tape Mr. Kovalchuk's respond was inaudible. Mr. Tallon
inquired as to what steps had been taken to insure a low noise pollution. Mr. Gulla stated the
building will only have three doors, it will be fully insulated, plus the board on board fence will
help keep the noise level down. Mr. Tallon asked if the building would be air conditioned. Mr.
Kovalchuk replied only the main offices would be air conditioned. Mr. Brennan inquired once the
summer heat rises to the high 90's will you be opening the back doors for air movement. Mr.
Gulla agreed that if the heat became to much then they would open the back doors to ventilate the
building. Mr. Brennan asked if there would be a gate along the back side of the fence, so the
back landscaping could be maintained. Mr. Gulla indicated there is a fence just west of the
dumpster. Mr. Spalding asked if the fence would be higher then the dumpster. Mr. Mills
suggested the fence would be higher then the dumpster. Mr. Tallon asked Mr. Rymarczyk what
variance Auto Body would need. Mr. Rymarczyk stated they will need a 5' ft. Side yard variance.
Mr. Tallon asked if the front lighting would be the same as the lights in the rear. He strongly
suggested Auto Body use ballord lights for the front of the building as well as the back. Mr. Mills
indicated he would look into getting ballord lights. Mr. Tallon asked if there were any questions
from the audience. Councilman, McKay asked if the City was allowing company's to build block
buildings now, as he was under the impression that the City was not against any block buildings.
Mr. Tallon indicated the building will be a split block, which is a finish only. No further
questions were asked. R. Tallon moved to send Auto Body Services, Inc. 28415 Lorain Road, a proposal to construct a
new (8100 square foot) block building, to the architectural review board and board of zoning
appeals. This proposal does not have to come back to planning commission and can go directly
to B.Z.D. following the architectural review board meeting. The motion was seconded by T.
Brennan and unanimously approved. Motion carried.
R. Tallon moved to recommend that the board of zoning appeals grant, Auto Body Services, Inc.
28415 Lorain Road, their request for a five foot side yard variance from the east side of the
property. The motion was seconded by T. Brennan and unanimously approved. Motion carried.
Mr. Rymarczyk announced board of zoning appeals will review this submittal on August 6, 1998,
but the next architectural review board meeting will not be until September 16, 1998.
IV.
