? ?. <br />suggested he could see no reason not to grant the sign package as the request had not changed and <br />the board approved it the last time. No fiuther questions were asked. <br />J. Kremzar moved to grant Health & Fitness; 4609 Crreat Northern, their request for variance <br />(1123.12). A 12 square foot variance for sign face area. Proposal is for 52' Sq ft of wall siguage <br />where as the code permits a maximum of 40' Sq ft A violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.11 (b). <br />'I7ie motion was seconded by J. Moloney, and uuanimously approved. Variance Granted. <br />10. A1 Grunuer; 24253 IVlaria Lane: <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request a 5' ft Rear yard variance for proposed detached garage. <br />A rear setback of 10 ft from rear property line is required. A Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section <br />1135.02 (c) (2). Note: Previous garage was destroyed by fire. <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was admiuistered to Mr. <br />C'riwuier. Mr. Goinersall reviewed the variances being. requested. Mr. Gomersall asked Mr. <br />Conway to clarify the request for him. Mr. Conway indicated tlus is to replace a garage that was <br />destroyed in a fire aud Mr. Grunner will be placing the new garage on the existing slab. Mr. <br />Moloney inquired if Mr. Gruuner would be addressing the drainage protection of lus neighbors. <br />Mr. Grunner suggested he was not sure. Mr. Moloney indicated you will need to follow the <br />building departments requiremeuts regarding drainage. No further comments were made. <br />J. Maloney moved to grant A1 Gruuuer; 24253 Maria Lane, lus request for variauce (1123.12). A <br />5' ft rear yard variance for proposed detached garage. A rear setback of 10 ft from rear property <br />line is required. A Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1135.02 (c) (2). Also to include the approval <br />of the building department in so far as drainage. The motion was seconded by J. Konold, aud <br />uuanimously approved. Variance Granted. <br />11. Jo Ann Fabrics; 26337 Great Northern Shoppiug Center: <br />Request for variance (1123.12). <br />1). Requesting a 2' ft variance for height of sign. Proposed sigu will be 6' ft In height and code <br />pemuts ovly 4' ft Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.12 (a). <br />2). Request variance of 139.5 sq feet for over all sign. Proposing 214.5 sq ft A.nd code permits only <br />75. Sq ft Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.12 (a). <br />3). They are appealing the Building Commissioners decision to have the Architectural review board <br />render a ruling on the color of the sign. They are proposing a color scheme for the logo "ETC" <br />of Blue, Violet and Red where as the Architectural review board ruled that it should be violet <br />only. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.16 (d). <br />4). They are appealing the Building Commissioners decision to have the Architectural review board <br />render a ruling on the design of the sign. They proposed the wording "Experience the <br />Creativity" where as the Architectural review board ruled that this wording be omitted and the <br />remainder of the sign be centered on the face. Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section 1163.16 (d). <br />Chainnan Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was admiuistered to Mr. <br />Banow, Ms. Berjon, and Mr. Bayus. Mr. Gomersall read aloud the variances being requested, and ask <br />Mr. Barrow to review the request. Mr. Barrow who is the assistant developer suggested, almost two <br />years ago our company came before this board for the approval of re-facing Great Northern Shopping <br />Center. As part of that package we did indicate signage but didn't request approval for any sign <br />packages at that time. We have committed our selves to the city and the building department to <br />6
