?
them to do, and I'm not quite sure if that 9 inches is really going to make a difference, and if we take
each case individually on its own merits is that really going to change, their here because they want the
variance its not because we are trying to make them go up to what the code is, I understand that we
want them in our community to have 345 sq ft. and that is the bases, but it looks like a very well
thought out plan their documentation is excellent it is some of the best I have seen, personally at this
point I don't thinlc it matters to me that the units are just a little under size because it is only a small
percentage of the figure. Mr. Gomersall stated we will vote on all the variances at once, it is a very
good presentation, well thought out, and the best we have seen in front of us in awlule, I'll entertain a
motion.
T. Koberna moved to grant Candlewood Hote124741 Country Club Blvd.,
(1) A 20' variance for front setback to construct a gazebo (100' req's).
(2) A vari ance to have coolang facilities in all units ( 125).
(3) A 11'.4 variance for each of the 93 units that do not meet minimum code requirements of 345' sq.
ft. of floor area.
SIGNAGE: (4) A variance for second wall sign ( 1 allowed)
(5) A" 45.75' variance for each wall sign #1& #2 ( 75'allowed).
(6) A 1'3" ht. variance for each wall sign #1 (4'.0" allowed).
(7) A 3.84' Variance for sign face area of ground sign ( 5'.0 allowed).
(8) A 3.2' Ht. variance for ground sign (5.0' allowed).
(9) A Variance for 18.5' of excess business bldg. signage ( 241.5 - 223 = 18.5').
Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section. 1149.04 (c), 1139.06, 1163.12 (A), 1163.12 (b), and 1163.11 (b).
The motion was seconded by R. Gomersall and unanimously approved. Variances Granted.
4. Ryder Trucks 24769 Lorain Road:
Request for variance (1123.12). Request the following variance to be allowed to increase the number of
trucks that may be stored at the business from four (4) to eight (8).
Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section. 1161.05 ( Off street parking and loading) which specifies the
number of parking spaces required. Note: The parking for the above facility has been discussed at
I'lanning Commission, and the BZD committee of council.
Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties before the board. The oath was administered to Steven
Schwarts, Area Manager for Ryder Truck, and Marc Hanslik, a concemed neighbor. Mr. Gomersall
stated you are requesting a variance to increase the number of trucks that are stored at the business
from 4 to 8 would you believe that there was twelve there today. Mr. Schwarts stated I believe that.
Mr. Kobema stated I was there last night and there were 11 trucks on the lot. Mr. Gomersall stated
what is the deal here you are asking for additional 4 and you are parking 12 there today and 11
yesterday, so what is going on, what good does it do us to give you a variance to go to 8 trucks when
you are going to be parking 12 - 15 what ever. Mr. Schwarts stated in the interim as we attempted to
increase the number it was our attempt to get to that number, but once we are told what that number is
going to be we will adhered to it. Mr. Gomersall stated have you spoken to the owner of the shopping
center as fare as designating that you can park back there. Mr. Schwarts stated yes we have. ,1,VIr.
Gomersall stated there is a lot of parking space back there I don't ever see it being useri for anything
else, however I tlunlc you should shield it from the neighbors, well I should hold off until you make
your statement. Mr. Schwarts stated we put up a$3,000.00 dollar fence in December back there by
the request of the landlord to shield the view from the east. Mr. Hanslik stated there was a fence there
already, and from those trucks parldng I don't lrnow if it is the people that bring them back or the
people that work at the place park them, they back right up against that wooden fence with metal poles
and they back right up against them and snap them right off and bend them right over, there is about a
