Mr. Brennan <br />questioned if it was just a reset drivit reveal. Mr. Schill suggested Mr. Brennan was correct it would be an <br />inward pointing V that is reassessed in about an inch. For a shadow line. Mr. Tallon asked if there was <br />anyone in the audience that had questions they would like to address regarding the proposal. No further <br />questions were asked. Mr. Tallon indicated that since a variance was needed he would make two motions, <br />one on the variance and one on the proposal. <br />R. Tallon motioned to send Norwalk Furniture to the Board of Zoning Appeals for the variance to allow <br />logos on the awnuigs and the motions is to recommend that the Board of Zoning Appeals not allow the <br />logo's on the avcnings as this is eYCessive signage and we don't need any more signage on the building The <br />motion was seconded by T. Brennan, and Unanimously approved. Motion Carried. <br />R. Tallon motioned to eYCept the proposal for the renovation of the eYterior and interior tenant space in <br />eXisting shopping center for Norwallc Furniture, based on the new prints received b_y the Building <br />Departrnent on December 29, 1998. Added to this motion that the proper lighting print must be received by <br />the Building Department before releasing the permits. The motion was seconded by T. Brennan and, <br />Unanimously approved. Motion Carried. In the framing of the motion Mr. Tallon indicated that Norwalk <br />Furniture could go to the Board of Zoning and Development board before going to the Board of Zoning <br />Appeals board if a Board of Zoning and Development meeting was held before the Board of Zoning <br />Appeals meeting date. The clerk advised the applicant that the Board of Zoning Appeals meeting would be <br />F'ebruary 4, 1999 at 7:30 p.m., and no further notices would be sent out. <br />B) Columbia Road Baptist Church; 4116 Columbia Road: <br />Proposal consists of master plan showing future additions. Note: Variances will be required. <br />Chairman Tallon reviewed Columbia Road Baptist Church's request and called all interested parties <br />forward to present their proposal. Pastor Jenkins suggested they were here to submit a master plan of what <br />the church hopes to build in the future as well as an unmediate plan to build a fellowship hall. Last year <br />the church added an addition and this year we would like to build the fellowship hall. Pastor Jenkins <br />introduced Mr. Saunders the architect and indicated he would review the churches plans. Mr. Satulders <br />suggested the set of prints that were submitted showed the overall plans of the church. Mr. Brennan <br />suggested he saw a fellowship hall with a hall X'ed out next to it. Mr. Saunders suggested the new <br />addition would be the north west addition on the plans, Mr. Tallon asked Mr. Saunders to approach the <br />bench and review the plans closer. Mr. Saunders indicated that phase three is the north west addition, <br />which they would like to do now, and the south east addition would be started 5 years from now. Mr. <br />Rymarczyk pointed out to the board members were the atrium was located on the map. Mr. Saunders <br />indicated it will be part of phase N. Mr. Tallon indicated he would prefer to call the new north west <br />elevation addition phase H. Mr. Tallon asked Mr. Saunders to start at phase II and continue. Mr. <br />Saunders suggested the plans show were phase two will be located in proportion to the rest of the building. <br />He would now like to review the property that surrounds the church as well as the variances that they <br />would like to have. Mr. Brennan suggested since phase IV will not be started for five years why don't we <br />limit our discussion to phase II for now, and discuss the variance that is needed for that phase. Mr. <br />Saunder agreed to review phase two, but indicated they would like the boards opinion on the overall plan. <br />Mr. Tallon asked Mr. Rymarczyk what variances would be needed. Mr. Rymarczyk suggested for phase <br />II only a 30' foot side setback variance is needed. Mr. Tallon asked Mr. Rymarczyk if a parking variance <br />would be needed with the next addition. Mr. Rymarczyk suggested they would not, as they show <br />landbanked parking in the front. Mr. Saunders reviewed the parking that exist and the proposed parking <br />that will be added in the future. Mr. Tallon asked if the front setback is 50' feet. Mr. Rymarczyk indicated <br />Mr. Tallon was correct. Ms. 0'Rourke questioned if the dwellings next to the church were privately <br />owned. Mr. Saunders indicated Ms. 0'Rourke was correct.
