.,.?
package had not been submitted yet. Mr. Yager asked what they are allowed regarding a ground sign per
their drawings. Mr. Conway suggested they're entitled to a ground sign and a wall sign per ordulance.
Mr. Yager indicated he liked the proposal and likes the color, and suggested thinking about painting the
eYisting building to blend with the new addition. He suggested a grayish tone, which would tLirn into more
of a tan tone because the Mocha is the tan tone, and it will absorb a lot of dirt. The company that has
designed die plans for you have done a great job, just look at pauiting the sides of the building to coordinate
it better. Mr. Liggett suggested they could either blend the existing building color with the new addition or
change the new colors to blend more with the wlute. It is just a suggestion but it will tie things together.
Mr. Yager asked when the building was painted last. Mr. Papotto suggested it was painted about 5 years
ago and has held up well. Mrs. Schulz aslced -vvhat the owner felt about changing the sign band to match
the existing off white. Mr. papotto indicated all of the suggestions were workable, he would just have to
decide if he wants to stick with the browns. Mr. Yager suggested he like the brovvii colors that have been
picked, and if a change of color is made on the new addition then it should be done on the sign ban and
front arch way to coordinate the colors. He asked if the easement was to park to the west, as he went by
the site and saw quite a few cars. Mr. Papotto suggested they might have been rental cars that are ready
for the company to pick up. Mr. Yager reviewed that Mr. Papotto had a letter from Mr. DiBenedetto
uldicating they would allow Mr. Papotto's employees to us their parking lot. Mr. Zerggot asked if a
professional landscaper was used to design the landscape plan. Mss. Weisenthal consulted a landscaper,
but drew the drawings in house. Mr. Zergott suggested the graphics were nice but they were using ninety
taxes and all the same shrubs with just a little different shape. There could be a lot more in expensive
shnibs used to get more suimner color. If you use only one type of shrub and one gets a disease all the
slu-ubs will get the disease, so it is better to break it up. He would recommend submitting another
landscape design. You can do a one hedge as a backdrop but in front they could have another type of shnib
ancl as you get closer to the building it steps up and you could use twice the plants aud save money
implementing a verity of shrubs. He will not hold up the proposal, but would like a new landscape plan ?
submitted to the building department for lus approval. Mr. Zergott asked where the dumpster would be
located, and if it is shown on the site plans. Mr. Jones suggested it would be placed on the East Side of the
building between Best store and their building. He suggested it would be enclosed behind a fence, wluch
will have a gate u1 the front of-the opening. Mr. Zergott asked about the lighting. Mss. Weisenthal
suggested lit letters on the sign and would return with a sign package. The flow of the cars entering the
building was discussed briefly. It was suggested signs be used to caution pedestrians, as well as the cars
entering and eYiting.
Mr. Liggett motioned to approve Suburba.n Auto Body of 26618 Brookpark Road EYt. their Proposal
consisting of renovating front facade, with new entra, nce and drive-through estimation bay, along with
redesigiung the parking lot, and landscaping with the following alterations. Tie in the addition with the
existing builduig with either a color change on the ehisting building or a color change in the new addition.
To submit a new revised landscape plan for Mr. Zergott's approval. Look at extending the mansard and
kick the over hang out. The motion was seconded by B. Zergott and unanimously approved.
2). North Olmsted Evangelical Friends Church: 5665 Great Northern Boulevard:
Proposal consists of adding addition to the elisting building, a family life center, expansion of sanctuary,
new classrooms and offices. Heard by Plaiuiing Commission on 1/12/99, and the Board of Zoning Appeals
board on 2/4/99. ,
Mr. Zergott called all interested parties fonvard to present their proposal. Mr. Shirkey, the architect
representing the church indicated the program is to expand as more space is needed for the sanctuary,
classrooms, family life center, and offices. Which would then call for more parking. Additional
classrooms as well as offices will be added to the southeast corner of the sanctuary, the family life center, ?
2
