Mr. Conway indicated that the - <br />Architectural Review Board thought tKe-three Midas signs on the building were redundant and <br />would like to see one of the Midas signs removed. Mr. Gomersall suggested removing the oval <br />Midas sign. Mr. Robert Amstadt indicated tliat they would remove the oval Midas sign #2. Mr. <br />Conway indicated that the applicant would still have 3 wall signs. Mr. Gomersall indicated that the <br />applicants needed signage to be seen and if they were willing to remove wall sign 42 he could <br />agree to the rest of the request. Both Robert and Karl Amstadt indicated that they would remove <br />wall sign #2. Mr. Gomersall indicated that the applicants would only need a variance for 2 <br />additional wall signs if sign 92 were removed. <br />J. Maloney motioned to grant Midas of 28820 Lorain Road their request for variance (1123.12) as <br />amended and agreed to. Which consists of a sign package and that the following variances be <br />granted: <br />1) A 29.87 square foot variance for building use sia age, (Code pernuts 118sq ft, applicant shows <br />147.87sq ft), section (1163.11 B). <br />2) An 8.49 square foot variance for business use signage, (Code permits 159.3sq ft, applicant <br />shows 167.79sq ft), section (1163.11 A). 3) t3 variance for 2 additional wall signs, and that wall sign #2 will be removed, (Code permits 1, <br />applicant shows 3), section (1163.12 A). Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections, (1163.11 <br />(B) (A)) and 1163.12 A). The motion was seconded by W. Kremzar and unanimously approved. <br />Variances Granted. <br />12. Clyde Kummerlen; 3116 Olmsted Dr. <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Proposal consists of an "insulated" aluminum roof for carp,ort. <br />The following variances are required: <br />1) A special permit to add to a non-conforming building, section (1165.02) <br />2) A variance to enlarge a non-conforining dwelling, section (1165.02 B 1). <br />3) A 25 foot rear yard variance for corner lot, ( Code requires SOft; applicant shows 25ft), section <br />(1135.08 A). <br />4) An 18 foot side yard variance for corner lot, (Code requires ZSft, applicant shows 7ft), section <br />(1135.06 B). Which is in violation of Ord, 90-125 sections, (1165.02 & B 1), (1135.06 B); and <br />(1135.08 A). <br />Chairman Gomersall called all interested parties forward, and reviewed the variances requested. <br />Mr. Kummerlen, The owner and W. Wagner, from Home Improvement came forward. Mr. <br />Wagner indicate that the owner would like to have an awning behind his garage, but it is a corner <br />lot. He reviewed the pictures that were submitted to the board. Mr. Gomersall indicated that the <br />awning would he would be 25ft from the neighbor. Mr. Wagner commented that because the lot is <br />a corner lot it is like a sideyard. W. Gomersall commented that the existing driveway was only 7 <br />feet from the sidewalk. NIr. Kummerlen indicated that when he bought the home he was told it <br />was supposed to be 15feet from the sidewalk but the surveyor made an error. Mr. Kremzar <br />questioned if there would be a problem with the existing tree. W. Kummerlen indicated that they <br />would make sure the tree is not disturb. No further comments were made. <br />J. Konold motioned to grant Clyde Kummerlen of 3116 Olmsted Dr. his request for variance <br />(1123.12).
