Kremzar motioned to grant Greco Building Group their request for variance (1123.12). Which <br />consists of an air conditioninj unit. <br />1. A 2 foot variance for side yard setbacl<, (code requires 5 feet, applicant shows 3+). <br />Which is ii1 violation of Ord. 90-125 section, (1135.07 (a)). The motion was seconded by J. Konold <br />and was unatumously approved. <br />7. Sunoco Inc.; 23370 Lorain Road: <br />Request for variance (1 123.12). The p1-oposal consists of signage on island canopy. <br />The following variance is requested: <br />1. A variance to install 2 sijns on island canopy. <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section, (1163.25). Note: This type of signage is not permitted <br />undei- section (1163.25). <br />Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the proposal. The oath was <br />administered to Bill Kelleher, a representative fi-om Centuiy Sign Co., who came forward to review <br />the proposal. Mr. Maloney commented that it looks like Sunoco is trying to go with corporate <br />signage. Mr. ICelleher replied yes, they are trying to. About a year ago they changed that canopy <br />and they're trying to malce it loolc a little more lilce a Sunoco Station. Mr. Kremzar questioned if all <br />the Sunoco's changed. IVIr. I<elleher replied they are trying to, one by one. A year ago when they <br />changed the canopy they had problems because the declcing was starting to fall down and they went <br />ahead and changed it without applying for permits. At that time Mr. Kelleher got involved, got the <br />necessary permits a.nd didn't bother with any si?ns at the time because they had bungled the whole <br />job. Now they are trying to come in and get a couple of small signs to make it look like the rest of <br />the Sunoco's. IVIr. Konold commented that it looks nicer. Mr. Kelleher indicated that they are <br />gradually downsizing the signs at this location and they are getting him to be a little more <br />reasonable. N1i-. C:onway questioned if the new color scheme was on this canopy. Mr. Kelleher <br />replied yes. Mr. Nlaloney called for a motion. <br />J.
