9 <br />1 <br />2. A variance for 2nd wall sign 92 facing north, (code permits 1 applicant shows 2), (section .+t <br />1163.27 (a)). <br />3. A 2 foot variance for height of wall sign # 1(8'-6L X 6-0 H) east elevation, (code permits 4' <br />applicant shows 6'), section (1163.27 (c)). <br />4. A lfoot variance for height of wall sign 92 (16' X 5' H) north elevation, (code permits 4' <br />applicant shows 5'), section 1163.27 (c)). <br />5. A 55.4 square foot variance for total maximum building signs face area, (code permits <br />110.4sqft applicant shows 165.8sqft), section (1163.24 (b)). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections, 1163., 1163.27 (a), (c) and 1163.24 (b): <br />Chairman, 1Vlaloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. The oath was <br />administered to Mr. Kalina, the sign contractor. Mr. Kalina reviewed where Bennigan's <br />building would be located on the lot. The Planning Commission approved the proposal and sent <br />it to the Architectural Review Board. The Architectural Review Board liked the signage, but <br />asked that the south wall sign be removed which has been done. The take-out door will have a <br />shamrock sign over the door. Metro Media Restaurant Group owns the chain. The restaurant is <br />like a Friday's restaurant. Mr. Kalina showed the board members a color sample. Mr. Koberna <br />indicated that he had visited a Bennigan's establishment and they are very nice. Mr. Maloney <br />reviewed the Architectural Review Boards recommendations, which suggests allowing the <br />shamrock over the take-out door. They have also recommended that the letters B& S in <br />Bennigan's be no more than 4-feet high and the remaining letters be any more than 2-feet high. <br />Mr. Kalina indicated that the letters B& S are each 45.5 inches high. Mr. Maloney questioned <br />if the overall signage size variance needed to be adjusted. Mr. Rymarczyk indicated that no <br />adjustments were.needed to the any of the variance requested. <br />T. Koberna motioned to approve Bennigan's of 4824 Great Northern Boulevard their request for <br />variance (1123.12). Which consists of a sign package and that the following variances be <br />granted; <br />1. A variance for a projecting sign (4'-1 W X4'-3H = 34.8aqft), (code does not permit <br />projection sign, applicant shows 1), section (1163.00). <br />2. A variance for 2" wall sign #2 facing north, (code permits 1 applicant shows 2), (section <br />1163.27 (a)). <br />3. A 2 foot variance for height of wall sign # 1(8'-6L X 6-0 H) east elevation, (code permits 4' <br />applicant shows 6'), section (1163.27 (c)). <br />4. A lfoot variance for height of wall sign #2 (16' X 5' H) north elevation, (code permits 4' <br />applicant shows 5'), section 1163.27 (c)). <br />5.
