1. Root Road vacation and Lehlbach Lot Split and Assemblv Plat - NOTE: That the proposed items
in both cities of Westlake and North Olmsted and requires approval by each city. North Olmsted
Item: The proposal is to split permanent parcel numbers 231-19-021 into three (3) sections of
land, and each section being joined to adjacent Westlake and North Olmsted (permanent parcel
number 231-19-020) property. Location is the West Side of Columbia Road, south of the
projected intersection with Root Road. Zoning within North Olmsted is B-Residence, Single
Entirely. Note: this proposal was tabled at the May 9, 2000 Planning Commission meeting.
Mr. Tallon called all interested parties forward to review the proposal. Mr. Saylor, Engineer and
Surveyor came forward to review the proposal. Mr. Tallon questioned why there were no
representatives present at the last Planning Commission meeting. Mr. Gertsma, the developer,
indicated that he had not received notice and that it had gone to the wrong address. Mr. Saylor
indicated that the applicants would be revising the lot split. He indicated that the parcel to the
south is not interested in assembling a narrow strip of land, so the revision would be that only the
land on the North Olmsted side would be split into two parcels. They would still be adjoining it
to the land adjacent in Westlake, but the single two parcels to the south, labeled as Parcel I, was
to add 15 feet to the side of that, that Parcel is no longer to be considered. Mr. Saylor indicated
that if the Board would like revised drawings showing these revisions, they would submit them.
He indicated the proposal has not been heard in Westlake yet. No further comments were made.
Chairman Tallon motioned to table the Root Road vacation and Lehlbach Lot Split and Assembly
Plat - NOTE: That the proposed items in both cities of Westlake and North Olmsted and requires
approval by each city. North Olmsted Item: The proposal is to split permanent parcel numbers
231-19-021 into three (3) sections of land, and each section being joined to adjacent Westlake and
North Olmsted (permanent parcel number 231-19-020) property. Location is the West Side of
Columbia Road, south of the projected intersection with Root Road. Zoning within North
Olmsted is B-Residence, Single Entirely, until the June 13, 2000 meeting. The motion was
seconded by W. Spalding and unanimously approved. Motion Carriecd.
2. Rosewood Estates Subdivision Number 6 Preliminarv Plan - NOTE: That this proposal is related to the above agenda item number 1 and involves both cities of Westlake and North Olmsted.
North Olmsted Item: The proposal is to construct a dedicated street through permanent parcel
number 231-19-017 intersecting Columbia Road and providing access to a proposed seven (7)
sublot subdivision in Westlake. Current zoning within North Olmsted is B-Residence, Single
Entirely. Note: this proposal was tabled at the May 9, 2000 Planning Commission meeting.
Chairman Tallon called all interested parties forward to review the request. Mr. Saylor, Engineer
and Surveyor came forward to review the request. Mr. Tallon questioned how the two proposals
are not connected. Mr. Saylor indicated that the proposals are adjacent to each other, but one
proposal does not depend on the other to progress forward. He indicated that primarily the only
part that deals with North Olmsted is the street entry. If the approval is gained from Westlake,
the majority of the work is going to be occurring in Westlake. The applicants would not go ahead
without both cities approval. Mr. Saylor indicated that the North Olmsted portion is to take one
existing parcel and put a 64 foot rightaway through it, which would leave a little bit of land on the
10
