Z. Rosewood Estates Subdivision Number 6 PreliminM Plan - NOTE: That this proposal is
related to the above agenda item number 1 and involves both cities of Westlake and North
Olmsted. North Olmsted Item: The proposal is to construct a dedicated street through
permanent parcel number 231-19-017 intersecting Columbia Road and providing access to a
proposed seven (7) sublot subdivision in Westlake. Current zoning within North Olmsted is
B-Residence, Single Entirely.
Mr. Tallon called all interested parties forward to review the request. He then suggested
tabling the proposals since no representatives were present. He indicated that since the
residences were in attendance that their comments and concerns would be noted if they
wished to coine forward even though the proposals would be tabled. Mr. Bohlmann, Service
Department Director for City of North Olmsted indicated that the street would be in North
Olmsted and the housing in Westlake and he did not think it would be conducive to
maintenance of the street. He is concerned with who would be responsible for the
maintenance of the street. Mr. Bohlmann suggested annexing the land into North Olmsted, so
as to not have the street in one city and the homes in another. He indicated similar streets
throughout the City where this has not worked out. Ms. Oldenburg, Ms. Ball, and Mr.
Ammons, neighbors, came forward with the same concerns of water drainage, construction,
who would be responsible for the tree lines on their properties if the trees became damaged
due to this construction, would there be fencing for the properties abutting the new housing,
and is it really in the best interest of the traffic congestion that is already prominent.
Mr. Tallon motioned to table the proposals of Root Road vacation and Lehlbach Lot Split and
Assembly Plat and Rosewood Estates Subdivision Number 6, Preliminary Plan until the May
23, 2000 meeting since there were no representatives present. The motion was seconded by
W. Spalding and unanimously approved. Motion Carried.
IV. COMNI[JNICATIONS:
V. CONIlVIITTEE REPORTS:
VI. MINOR CHANGES:
VIII. NEW BUSINESS:
IX. OLD BUSINESS:
X. ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30pm.
4
