Halleen Chevrolet 27932 Lorain Rd.
Proposal consists of : Fencing in front and east side of building to eliminate unauthorized
vehicle removal; as per Insurance Company.
Chairman Tallon called all interested parties forward to review the proposal. Mr. Car.l Halleen, from
Halleen Chevrolet came forward to review the proposal. Mr. Halleen indicated the insurance
company requested that they put up a barrier to eliminate unauthorized vehicle removal from the front
line of the lot. They believe putting a chain across the front would eliminate unauthorized vehicle
removal. The remains of the lot have chain link fence. Mr. Spalding questioned if the new fence
would be the same height as the old fence and asked about the dimensions. Mr. Halleen indicated
between the bases of the light poles it would be 20 inches in the center where it would loop down and
28 inches where the base of the steel pole sits on the concrete and where they are going to weld on a
metal flange to attach the chain to it. Mr. Asseff questioned what the difference was in this proposal
and what they currently have. Mr. Halleen indicated there are no differences, he suggested that years
ago they used to have "6 foot by 6 foot"' white posts that were unattractive. He remarked the chain really wouldn't be seen. Mr. Tallon
suggested looking into designer, wrought iron fences, something that has aesthetic nuance, so it looks
half way decent, and blends into the neighborhood. The proposed chain link isn't any better than the
previous chain. He remarked that the area wasn't the back yard of a junkyard, it is in the middle of a
residential area. He .suggested a wrought iron that would allow customers to see the cars, yet give
