ROLL CALL: , <br />Vice Chairman, Yager called the meeting to order at 5:3 Opm. <br />PRESENT: Vice Chairman, M. Yager, and Board Member, T. Liggett. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Building Commissioner, D. Conway, and Clerk of Commissions, D. <br />Rote. <br />ABSENT: Chairman, B. Zergott, and Board Member, K. Schulz. <br />H. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: The Architectural Review Board minutes <br />dated 7une 21, 2000, have been submitted for approval. <br />Vice Chairman Yager indicated that since Mr. Liggett could not vote on the minutes they <br />will be addressed at the next regularly scheduled meeting. <br />III. SIGNS: No items. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: No items. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Great Northern Mall• PP# 236-09-002 & 003. 235-28-001 and 236-14-004 <br />Proposal consists of a 270,000 square foot expansion to Great Northern Mall. <br />Acting Chairman, Yager called all interested parties forward to review the proposal. Mr. <br />Rinker, The attorney for the inall owners, Mr. Cassiere, the architect for the new <br />department store and Mr. Barker and Mr. Loesch with Simon Property Group all came <br />forward to review the proposal. Mr. Cassiere indicated that the design of the building is to <br />create a recognizable image for the customer. It will be a tliree-story building with three <br />entrances. The entrances will be emphasized, by the wall movement from the main building <br />lines on both side vertical elements and the arch that will rise above the parapet. The arched <br />area will have raised panels. At the customer, level there will be canopy and below that, <br />there is an entrance element. The entranceways will have a different walking surface. The <br />major walls of the building will have a 12-foot height base that will change colors to reach <br />up to a bullnose molding and accent reveals. L,andscaping which in time as it grows will <br />mask the building. As far as the roof top units they are dashed in with an 846ot high <br />parapet, therefore the roof top units will not be seen. The roof top units are rouahly about <br />7foot 6inches high behind an 8foot parapet. Mr. Yager questioned if they were to review a <br />department store and a ma11 addition. Mr. Rinker.answered "yes" the mall addition will be <br />about 30thousand square feet. Mr. Yager questioned whom each person represented. W. <br />Rinker indicated that Mr. Barker and W. Loesch represented the mall and Mr. Cassiere <br />represented the department store. Mr. Yager questioned what the mall addition would look <br />like. Mr. Barker indicated that the mall addition was shown on the department store site <br />plans. The existing building will be expanded 140feet and will match the existing building.
