Duke-V'lWeeks Realitv' Location is south side of AL Moen Drive PP# 236-11-009,011,018 &
236-12-010: Proposal consists of erecting a building on the front southwest side of Moen
Drive. Note: The Planning Commission addressed this proposal at the May 9, 2000 meeting.
Mr. Ford, from Ford & Berry Architects, and Mr. Hall came forward to review the proposal.
Mr. Ford indicated that he has worked with Duke-Weeks in Columbus with building their
parent buildings. Mr. Ford indicated that the picture of the building that was submitted is an
actual photograph of what the building would look like when completed. The building
would be all brick 3 story with some cast stone accent bands around the building. There is a
large center arch with a suspended canopy over the entryway. Mr. Ford indicated this serves
two purposes, one, there would be a place when outside the door to open an umbrella before
going into the rain, and two, the scale is brought down so a person is not intimidated by the
three story arch. He indicated it would be a hand laid brick and not a panelized brick system.
The color resembles limestone. Mr. Ford indicated there would be Spandrel glass used
which is complementary to the brick. There would also be sand-molded brick. They will be
using standard brick and there would also be shaded glass in which the mullions would be
champagne. Mr. Ford indicated the building would be traditionally organized being
symmetrical on the axis. Mr. Yager questioned what the lighting program would be on the
site and on the building. Mr. Ford reviewed that there would be lighting in the arch at night,
which washes down the glass. He indicated there could be lighting placed on the top of the
canopy and has them shine up. Unfortunately, there would be tenants on the second floor in
a conference room where the lighting would be distracting. Mr. Ford reiterated that there
would only be lighting in the arch. Mr. Ha11 indicated that there would be lights in the
parking lot that are similar to what is seen at the Moen building presently. He indicated that
the fixtures would be pole mounted throughout the parking lot. Mr. Hall also indicated that
