He likes
the cedar on the church. Mr. Solt indicated that not too long ago he sealed the existing cedar
because of discoloration. When the addition if complete, he will use the same sealer to the new
siding giving it all the same look. Mr. Zergott questioned what landscaping would be added.
Mr. 5olt indicated that since the pavement runs on three sides, there would only be
landscaping on the north side. Mr. Solt indicated that they were not planning on removing any
trees. Mr. Yager mentioned the neighbor who attended the Planning Commission meeting on
January 11, 2000 addressing the landscaping. Mr. Solt indicated the Forester was supposed to
call him, but he never heard from him. Mr. Solt also indicated that himself, the Forester and
the neighbor would have a meeting all at once to discuss the landscaping. Mr. Yager indicated
that the existing landscaping was nice. The Clerk indicated that the Forester had reviewed the
site and submitted an opinion.
Mr. Yager motioned to accept North Olmsted United Methodist Church; 4600 Dover Center
Rd. their proposal which consists of a 2560 square foot addition being added to the rear of the
existing building with the following recommendations: That the Forester's report be included
with the minutes and that the church work out a landscaping plan for the north wall and
submit for approval to Mr. Zergott, and all materials used will match existing material.
NOTE: The Forester's report is attached to the back of these minutes. The motion was
seconded by K. Schultz and unanimously approved. Motiorn carried.
2). Pasture Jenkins indicated that they
wauld be adding a fellowship hall and turning the existing rooms into Sunday school
classrooms. Mr. Zergott questioned what materials would be used. Pastor Jenkins indicated
the materials will match the existing white split face brick, shingles will be black asphalt and
windows will be white vinyl. Mr. Yager indicated that he liked the addition and indicated it
will fit into the site well. Mr. Yager indicated that the landscaping looked linear and wondered
if Mr. Zergott was going to address it. Mr. Zergott suggested that the church's' landscaping is
more elaborate than most and suggested that the church must have someone in -the
congregation that is taking care of the landscaping. Mr. Zergott suggested the maintenance is a
little more difficult than what is required.
Mr. Yager made a motion to accept Columbia Road Baptist Church 4116 Columbia Rd their
proposal, which consists of adding a fellowship hall to the existing church.
