addition. Mr. Yager indicated that no minutes were needed for the material because if the? -?' <br />applicant's materials don't match the existing material then it will be very noticeable. He likes <br />the cedar on the church. Mr. Solt indicated that not too long ago he sealed the existing cedar <br />because of discoloration. When the addition if complete, he will use the same sealer to the new <br />siding giving it all the same look. Mr. Zergott questioned what landscaping would be added. <br />Mr. 5olt indicated that since the pavement runs on three sides, there would only be <br />landscaping on the north side. Mr. Solt indicated that they were not planning on removing any <br />trees. Mr. Yager mentioned the neighbor who attended the Planning Commission meeting on <br />January 11, 2000 addressing the landscaping. Mr. Solt indicated the Forester was supposed to <br />call him, but he never heard from him. Mr. Solt also indicated that himself, the Forester and <br />the neighbor would have a meeting all at once to discuss the landscaping. Mr. Yager indicated <br />that the existing landscaping was nice. The Clerk indicated that the Forester had reviewed the <br />site and submitted an opinion. <br />Mr. Yager motioned to accept North Olmsted United Methodist Church; 4600 Dover Center <br />Rd. their proposal which consists of a 2560 square foot addition being added to the rear of the <br />existing building with the following recommendations: That the Forester's report be included <br />with the minutes and that the church work out a landscaping plan for the north wall and <br />submit for approval to Mr. Zergott, and all materials used will match existing material. <br />NOTE: The Forester's report is attached to the back of these minutes. The motion was <br />seconded by K. Schultz and unanimously approved. Motiorn carried. <br />2). Columbia Road Baptist Church 4116 Columbia Rd. <br />Proposal consists of adding a fellowship hall to the existing church. Note: The Planning . <br />Commission addressed this proposal on the following dates, 1/12/99 and 9/14/99. The Board <br />of Zoning Appeals board granted them a special permit on 10/7/99. Note: The Planning <br />Commission heard this proposal on January 11, 2000 at which time they referred the proposal <br />to the Architectural Review Board. <br />Pasture 7enkins came forward to review the proposal. Pasture Jenkins indicated that they <br />wauld be adding a fellowship hall and turning the existing rooms into Sunday school <br />classrooms. Mr. Zergott questioned what materials would be used. Pastor Jenkins indicated <br />the materials will match the existing white split face brick, shingles will be black asphalt and <br />windows will be white vinyl. Mr. Yager indicated that he liked the addition and indicated it <br />will fit into the site well. Mr. Yager indicated that the landscaping looked linear and wondered <br />if Mr. Zergott was going to address it. Mr. Zergott suggested that the church's' landscaping is <br />more elaborate than most and suggested that the church must have someone in -the <br />congregation that is taking care of the landscaping. Mr. Zergott suggested the maintenance is a <br />little more difficult than what is required. <br />Mr. Yager made a motion to accept Columbia Road Baptist Church 4116 Columbia Rd their <br />proposal, which consists of adding a fellowship hall to the existing church. The motion was <br />seconded by T. Liggett and unanimously approved. Motion Carried. <br />3.) Dick's Sporting Goods Sporting Goods / Cort Furniture 4700 Great Northern Blvd. <br />Proposal consists of renovating the former Giant Eagle building on Great Northern Blvd to <br />accommodate Dick's Sporting Goods Sporting Goods store and Cort Furniture. Note: The <br />Planning Corrunission heard this proposal on January 11, 2000 at which time they referred the <br />proposal to the Architectural Review Board. <br />6
