CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE" <br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />1VIINUTES NOVEMBER 13, 2000 <br />7:30 P.M. ' <br />OLD TOV6'N HALL <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Lang called the meeting to order at 7:32 P.M. <br />PRESENT: Chairman Lang, Board members, L. VanAuken, B. Lord, P. Barker, M. Gareau <br />Jr., and K. O'Rourke. <br />ABSENT: A. Smeraldi and G. Corell. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MIlNUTES: The minutes of the Landmarks Commission <br />meeting held on October 9, 2000 have been submitted for approval. <br />Mr. Barker commented that the word certainteed was spelled wrong throughout the minutes. <br />L. VanAuken motioned to approve the Landmarks meeting minutes dated October 9, 2000 as <br />corrected. The motion was seconded by B. Lord and unanimously approved. <br />III. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1. William Freed; 27615 Butternut Ridge Rd' <br />The proposal consists of building a 10'x20' patio next to the existing garage with an exterior <br />edge of sandstone. <br />Mr. Lang commented that he_ examined the site the day that Mr. Freed applied for the <br />building permit. The patio will not be visible from Butternut Rd. or Burns Rd. and it will be <br />on a detached garage. Mr. Lang gave verbal permission on the 13th for the property owner to <br />do the patio because it did not seem to fit in to any of Landmarks concerns, restrictions, or <br />anything else they would voice. Mr. Lang commented that he assumed that the .project was <br />completed as described in the permit. Mrs. Freed replied that it has been. Mr. Lang inquired <br />if any board members had any questions to Mrs. Freed about the patio. Mrs. VanAuken <br />questioned if the patio was on the south side of the garage. Mr. Lang replied that it is on the <br />east side of the detached garage. Mrs. VanAuken then commented when someone looks <br />down the driveway they wouldn't even see the patio. Mrs. Freed replied yes. <br />M. Gareau Jr. moved that a certificate of appropriateness be issued to William Freed of <br />27615 Butternut Ridge Rd. to construct a 10'x20' patio next to the existing detached garage <br />with an exterior edge of sandstone. P. Barker seconded the motion and was unanimously <br />approved. <br />2. Mr. Lang commented that Mr. Charles Miller has resigned from his position as a Landmarks <br />Commission member. Mr. Lang sent him a letter thanking him for his service and extending
