home looked more like it did when it was first built or just in better shape. Mr. Corell
remarked that any building that has vinyl siding will not look vintage, the only way to get
that is to strip everything off and use siding of that time period. Mr. Lang believed that the
siding would bring the house closer to the period of construction in general appearance. He
believes that the siding is acceptable in color and size in proportion to the other homes on the
street. He indicated that the only reason he was so adamant about Mr. Wolf being present for
the meeting was to make sure what took place was on record. He apologized to Mr. Wolf for
his inconvenience but the board wants to make sure that they are doing what they are
supposed to do according to the ordinance. Discussion took place on how permits should be
handled in the future for homes on Butternut Ridge Road. Short discussion took place on
different types of roofs were used on the historical homes. Mrs. VanAuken suggested that
homes in the 1800's did not have color they were black or slate.
G. Corell motioned to grant a letter of appropriateness to Steve and Mary Wolf of 27132
Butternut Ridge Rd. which consists of vinyl siding manufactured by American Heritage in
the color of clay, with reddish shutters and white trim. The motion was seconded by P.
Barker and unanimously approved. 1VIotion Carried.
VII. AD70URNMENT:
K. O'Rourke moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by P.
