REVLEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUT'ES: ,
The Landmarks Commission minutes of the August 131 2001 meeting have been submitted for
approval. M. Davis motioned to accept the Landmarks minutes dated August 13, 2001 as written. The
motion was seconded by L. VanAuken and unanimously approved.
III. NEW BUSINESS:
Henrv Caster• 25701 Butternut Ridge Rd.
The proposal consists of siding. Going from wood siding to vinyl siding.
L. VanAuken motioned to hear Mr. Caster's proposal. P. Barker seconded the motion and was
unanimously approved.
Mrs. Lord asked Mr. Caster and his representative to present their proposal again. Paul
DiSilvestro, from DiSilvestro Roofing and Home Improvement, introduced himself. He
indicated that he would be doing the work on Mr. Caster's house. They did his roof last year, in
which they repaired all the sofits on the house (the overhang areas) and rebuilt them with the
proper esthetics. There are areas on the house with wood siding which is deteriorating and they
will replace it, if need be, before the siding goes on. There are homes in
the Tremont area and also in Ohio City where people to this day are taking all those layers off
and going down to the original boarding. This will be no different, he wants to help the esthetics
of the home and make it maintenance free for himself. The products are manufactured by Alcoa,
which offers a good price and great warranties. Mr. Barker questioned if they were going to use
one-inch insulation. Mr. DiSilvestro indicated no; they would be using half inch. They are not
changing any of the window structure, those windows will stay the exact way they are now. Mr.
Barker questioned if he had read through the minutes of why the board rejected Mr. Biszantz's
house. Mr. DiSilvestro replied that he did read the minutes and had a meeting with the Building
Commissioner, which went rather well. Mr. Barker indicated that the one inch insulation on 1VIr.
Biszantz's house would have changed the whole configuration of the house and that was their
