?
!
C) Mr. Corell suggested the board do something in which they could get people who have
been around North Olmsted for a long time and ask them various questions about their
time and era to have some sort of history recorded on tape. The site student could get
involved in this project also. Ms. O'Rourke indicated that they should get a questionnaire
together with general questions for everyone. Mr. Corell suggested that prompts could be
put together. Ms. Lord indicated that herself and Ms. VanAuken have done this with an
older couple before. She then agreed that this would be a good idea and questioned if
Mr. Corell thought this should be a project the board should take on. Mr. Corell replied
that he thinks so, let's put it on the agenda and figure out a way to do it in a reasonable
amount of time. He would recommend that they take the tape recorder used for the
meetings around and he would be able to get that put on a CD. Ms. Lord questioned if
somebody would take this on and start a list of names that might be good candidates for
the interviews and a list of questions for the prompters to ask. Or some ideas to get this
project going. 1VIr. Corell indicated that he would try to get something going on this.
D) Ms. Lord indicated that there is a student who is working on an Eagle project. Mr. Ball's
son is going to meet her at Town Hall next week because he is looking for photos. He is
doing a history of North Olmsted and she has only talked to him on the phone. She
questioned if the board members had any problems sharing anything they might have
with him. Ms. O'Rourke indicated she should give him a time frame to get these items
back.
E) NIs. Lord indicated that the next item is the Barton Rd. Church property, which Ms.
O'Rourke was supposed to investigate. Ms. O'Rourke commented that she has asked for
a fax with more information, but has never received it. Ms. Lord indicated that Ms.
O'Rourke requested the listing from the Realty Company. It would cost $190,000 for the
property. They list it as two properties: 30450 Lorain Rd. and 6183 Barton Rd. It is
3.529 acres, and is listed as two commercial plus one residential structure totaling
approximately 23,371 sq. ft. It is listed as a church built in 1957 which is the newer
church. It is also listed as an office/classroom complex built in 1927/1957. Neither of
those dates could be right. 1VIr. Corell agreed and thought that it couldn't have been 1957,
his guess would be more like 1967. 1VIs. Lord read aloud the comments section of the
listing: Prestigiously located on a major thoroughfare, excellent re-development
opportunity, ownership motivated to structure a transition mutually beneficial to all
concerned. They have it zoned as single family. Ms. O'Rourke indicated that after this
she had E-mailed them again and she requested a property description and the zoning
map. The man said he would fax it to her, but she has not heard from him since.
V. CONIlVIITTEE REPOR'I'S:
VI. OLD BLJSINESS:
ADJOURNMENT: G. Corell motioned to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by M. Davis and
unanimously approved. Meeting adjourned.
B. Lord, Acting Chairman
Asst. Clerk of Commissions, Shaun Solomon
O
'"L' 3
