Mr. Olson indicated that he would like to give a quick background as to why they <br />are here and what they are trying to do. They have been operating since 1983 in tfie existing store across <br />the street. They own that facility and they stepped up and looked at the opportunity to present the new <br />proto-type store. They tried to look at what makes the best sense for the City and the consumers. They <br />looked at reconfiguring the old Ames store or they could just tear it down and start fresh. They have had <br />a number of ineetings with the residents that surround the Ames building and the plan they have here is a <br />result of that. The Planning Commission wanted Tops to sit down with the residents and find out what <br />their concerns are and address those concerns. What they are looking at tonight as it relates to the <br />6
