Maloney requested clarification of the signage that is requested. Mr. Rymarczyk indicated that the sign <br />along Lorain is a can sign ("internally illuminated cabinet") he believes it is 16-feet long by 3-feet high. <br />They have proposed a logo sign for the west side of the building, which requires a 6-inch height variance. <br />Mr. Kula suggested that the front sign will be 3-foot by 16-feet and covers 49.25 square feet across the <br />front of the building. They would like to have the KIA logo which is 4-foot 2-inches by 8-feet 11-inches. <br />Mr. Koberna indicated that there was currently two ground signs, so why would the sign on the west side <br />be needed. Mr. Kula suggested that one of the ground signs would be removed. Mr. Koberna suggested <br />the applicant have a master sign program. There are three different buildings and the plans are not clear <br />where these signs are going. Mr. Halleen indicated that the signs will be placed on the KIA showroom <br />building. The logo is needed on the west side of the building so that traffic traveling ea,st can see that it is <br />a KIA dealership. <br />J. Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section, (1163.27 (A) &(C). The motion was <br />seconded by J. Konold and unanimously approved. Varianees Granted <br />Note: As all 7 variance requests were granted the special permit to add to two (2) non-conforming <br />buildings was approved. <br />8) Lube Stop; 28401 Lorain Rd <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of lot size reduction. The following variances are <br />requested: <br />1) A variance for reduction of lot size (code requires 40,000 sq. ft., applicant shows 14,824 sq. ft.), <br />section (1139.06). <br />2) A 10 ft. variance for parking/drive rear yard setback (code requires 10 ft., applicant shows 0), section <br />(1139.07 chart). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section, 1139.06 and 1139.07. <br />- Note: Existing lot is non-conforming having only 19,000 sq. ft. <br />Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review their request. Mr. IV1ills: the Attorney for <br />Lube Stop came forward to be sworn in and review the request. Mr. Mills indicted that the Collision <br />Center six months earlier contacted Lube Stop about purchasing a piece of their lot for blacktop parking. <br />As the Lube Stop lot is already a non-conforming lot they will require variances for lot size and rear yard <br />setback. Planning Commi.ssion granted the lot consolidation contingent upon the variances being granted <br />by the Board of Zoning Appeals. Mr. Rymarczyk indicated that lot density does not exceed the 25% <br />requirement. No further comments were made. <br />?
