Kalina replied yes. Mr. Maloney called for a motion.
W. Kremzar motioned to grant AT&T of 25766 Lorain Rd. their request for variance 1123.12.
Which consists of installing a second wall sign and that the following variance be granted:
A 2"d sign variance for an additional wall sign on the east elevation (code permits 1 per building unit,
applicant shows 2), section (1163.27 A). Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section, 1163.27 A.
The motion was seconded by T. Kelly and was unanimously approved. Granted 11/1/01.
6. DiMauro Cleaners: 28648 Lorain Rd.
Request for variance (1123.12). Proposal consists of changing sign use. The following variance is
requested:
1) A variance for change of use for an existing non-conforming sign from food sales 1139.01 (b) 3 E
to dry-clean 1139.01 (b) 4 E.
Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section, 1163.10 C.
Note: Use of an existing pole sign creates an excess of 19 sq. ft. of signage which would be in
violation of current code 1163.24 (a) if new. Lot frontage allows for 140.8 sq. ft. of signage.
Proposal calls for 160 sq. ft. of total applicable signage.
Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. The oath was
administered to Michael DiMichele, with Brilliant Electric Signs, and Joe DiMauro, the owner, who
both came forward to review the request. Mr. Maloney questioned if they could explain their sign
proposal. Mr. DiMichele indicated that they have a unique situation where there is a nonconforming
sign which was there existing that he understands is allowed to stay. They have a dry-cleaners going
into what was formerly a pizza place. There are blank faces in there now; it is not illuminated at this
time. They would just like to put new faces in it. They would like to catch the traffic going by too.
Mr. Maloney indicated that it could come down under the new ordinances because of the change of
ownership, but you have an unusual situation here with parking and traffic. Mr. DiMichele indicated
that he tried looking at putting a ground sign in there, but it was not feasibly possible with the
location. Mr. Maloney called for a motion.
J. Konold motioned to grant DiMauro Cleaners of 28648 Lorain Rd. their request for variance
1123.12.
