informed that neon lights are not allowed in North Olmsted. Mr. Yager suggested using plasma
cutting on quarter inch rod or quarter inch stainless stell, which ever the applicant prefer. The
applicant can save money in the end, be maintenance free and find paints that will adhere to the
metal and add color to the site. The site need something even placing umbrella tables on the deck
would help even if you can not use them. Mr. Margulies commented that they have parking
issues now and are not allowed to use the deck area for the restaurant. Mr. George indicated that
the automobile section is phasing itself out. Mr. Zergott requested the bottom of the deck be
closed. Mr. George suggested lattice being used and putting planters in front of that. Mr.
Zergott voiced that lattice is not appropriate for the site. Mr. Yager suggested having the maker
of the railing do the bottom section of the deck using the same material. The ramp takes up the
entire front area of the building so that is what should be used to draw in the customers. Mr.
George suggested that there would be additional landscaping on the site. Mr. Yager suggested
that if the work were done in sheets of inetal it would be less expensive in the end. There is
nothing in this plan to enhance the site as was requested by the board. Mr. George suggested
they would place green umbrellas to match the awning. Discussions were to find different types
of umbrellas and companies that manufacture them took place. Mr. Yager commented that the
board was disappointed to see such little change made to improve the site. The board members
are only trying to enhance the site to help the applicants business work. Mrs. Schulz felt a brown
color would be better then the proposed gray. Mr. Yager suggested he would contact the
applicant to show him a type of plasma that could be used. The applicants should make changes
and return to this board. The current railing on this site does not meet current codes.
M. Yager motioned to table Daniel E. Margulies (Pepper Joe's Restaurant) of 24532 Lorain
Road his proposal which consists of interior renovation for restaurant including new
handicapped ramp, canvas canopy, railing and signage, until the applicant addresses the
railing and under the deck. B. Zergott seconded the motion, which was unanimously
approved. Tabled
V. NEW BUSINESS:
2. Review 2003 calendar of ineeting dates.
B. Zergott motioned to accept the submitted meeting dates for the 2003 calendar year. M.
Yager seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
B.
