ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Zergott called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman B. Zergott, Board members; K. Schulz, J. Nader and M. Yager. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Building Commissioner, T. Rymarczyk, and Clerk of Commissions <br />D. Rote. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MIN-[JTES: <br />The Architectural Review Board minutes for October 16, 2002 have been submitted for approval <br />J. Nader indicated that on page eight, fourth-line of the second paragraph it should read "but" it <br />does not do anythinD for the canopy. Nip. Yager voiced that the future minutes should be <br />condensed more as he only has a limited amount of time he can commit to reading minutes. He <br />commented that both he and Mr. Zergott have a tendency to be verbose. The clerk indicated that <br />her office is working with the Law Department to come up with a format for shorter minutes that <br />will work for all the boards and Commissions. <br />M. Yager motioned to approve the Architectural laeview Board minutes dated October 16, <br />2002 as amended. B. Zergott seconded the motion, roll call on the motion S. Zergott, J. <br />Nader and M. Yager "yes"; K. Schulz "abstained". Minutes Approved <br />III. SIGNS: <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Daniel E Marwulies (Pepper Joe's Restaurant)' 24532 Lorain Road: <br />Proposal consists of interior renovation for restaurant including new handicapped ramp, canvas <br />canopy, railings, signage, etc. Note: Planning Commission tabled this proposal on 7-9-02 and <br />referred this to Architectural Review Board 117 12-02. <br />Chaercnan Zergott called all interested parties forward to review the proposal. Mr. Margulies, <br />the interior designer orchestrating the project came forward to review the proposal. Mr. Margulies <br />indicated that neither the architect nor owner could attend the meeting. Mr. Zergott reviewed <br />what the board would like Mr. Margulies to address. <br />Applicant's proposal: Mr. 1VIargulies reviewed that the building is a preexisting structure that <br />-th7 are renovating. The Planning Commission has approved their proposal at their November <br />12 meeting. The owner of the site has a restaurant in Lakewood and is riow opening Pepper <br />Joe's at the proposed site, which- he owns. There is an auto body shop on the first level, which <br />will only remain for another year, what will take its place, is not known at this time. There is also <br />a retail shop on the first floor, which will remain. The second floor was used for offices as well <br />as a cell phone company. There will be updates to the existing deck and a handi cap ramp will be <br />added and include railings. There will be a green canopy added over the entrance door, the wood <br />shingles will have a fresh coat of gray paint. The building will remain off white brick and the <br />existing aluminum and windows will remain the same. There will be a brick ground sign <br />submitted later.
