3. An 8 inch variance for wall sign height (side elevation) (code permits 4 ft., applicant shows 4 ft. 8 '
inches), section (1163.27 (c)).
4. An 8 inch variance for wall sign height (front elevation) (code permits 4 ft., applicant shows 4 ft. 8
inches), section (1163.27 (c)).
Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section (1163.27 (a)), (1163.24 (b)), and (1163.27 (c)).
Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. Mr. Chuck Arnott,
representing Ruby Tuesday, and Chris Eppolito of Allied Lighting, came forward to be sworn in. Mr.
Arnott explained they would like 4 variances for signage. He explained the site and referred to the
plans. He said the building is oriented with the entrance on the side of the building as opposed to the
main road. They have a sign that was already approved on the front of the building, but they would like
a sign on the actual entrance. The other request is for an additional 8 inches in height on both signs,
which is the gap between the two rows of letters. The 8 inch gap between letters increases the overall
square footage of the signs. Mr. Eppolito explained the signage further. Mrs. Sergi asked for
clarification on the building signs. She asked if the monument sign will be out by the trees. She
questioned if there was any way to bring the side sign into code. Mr. Arnott indicated the only variance
on the sign itself is the 8 inch gap between letters. -
J. Konold made a motion to- grant Ruby Tuesday of 26774 Lorain Rd. the request for variance
(1123.12), which consists of a sign package and that the following variances be granted:
1. A variance for 1 additional wall sign on a-building (code permits 1, applicant shows 2), section
(1163.27 (a)).
2. A 71.5 square foot variance for wall signs, which exceeds 51.7 sq. ft(code permits 51.7 square ft.,
_ applicant shows 123.2 square ft.), section (1.163.24 (b)).
3. An 8 inch variance for wall sign height (side elevation) (code permits 4 ft., applicant shows 4 ft. 8
inches), section (1163.27 (c)). .
The
motion was seconded by W. Kremzar and unanimously approved. Variances Granted.
13. US Bank; 25900 Countrv Club Blvd. (WItD-4)
Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of replacing existing signs. .
The following variance is requested:
l. A variance for 2 additional ground signs on a lot (code permits l, applicant shows 3). "
Note: Variance request is for an additional monument sign and one ATM directional sign which is
considered a ground sign. One ground sign (face change only) and one new wall sign already permitted.
Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections (1163.26 (a)).
Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. Mr. Lou Belknap of MC
Sign Company came forward to be sworn in. Mr. Belknap said they have one main identification sign
already in place. They are requesting the same signage that was up at the location before the
conversion to US Bank. _ He referred to the plans and explained the driveway access and.monument
sign location. He added they want to recapture the identification of the building. Mrs. Sergi asked if
the ATM sign would be the same size and style. 1VIr. Belknap indicated it is actually smaller but it is
more sleek.
J. Konold made a motion to grant US Bank of 25900 Country Club. Blvd. the request for variance
(1123.12), which consists of replacing existing signs and that the following variance be granted:
1. A variance for 2 additional ground signs on a lot (code permits 1, applicant shows 3).
10
