The motion was seconded by W. <br />Kremzar and unanimously approved. Variances Granted. <br />6. Cind}r Hickman- 4475 Silverdale ()YRD-11 <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of installing a swimming pool. <br />The following variance is requested: <br />1. A 301.3 square foot variance for accessory structures exceeding 20% rear yard coverage (code <br />permits 950.4 square ft., applicant shows 1,251.7 square ft.). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections (1135.02 (d)(2)). . <br />Chairman Maloney called. all interested .parties forward to review the request. Mrs. Hickman, and <br />neighbors Gerald Martell, and Don and Karen Sikon, came forward to be sworn in. Mrs. Hickman <br />indicated she would like to put in a 21 ft. round, above ground swimming pool in her yard. She said the <br />variance has to do with her taking up more than 20% of her rear yard. Mr. Martell asked if she would <br />be going back any further than she is right now. Mrs. Hickman replied she is not. Mr. Maloney <br />pointed out she would be.12 ft. from the side lirie and 23 ft. from the rear line. She would be 10 ft. <br />from the corner of her house. Mrs. Sergi pointed out it would be where the old pool was located. Mrs. <br />Hickman said the new one would actually be more in the middl.e of the yard, which is a better location. <br />Mrs. Sikon asked about fencing. Mrs. Hickman indicated she already has a 6 ft. privacy fence and <br />locks and everything she needs. <br />W. Kremzar made a motion to grant Cindy Hickman of 4475 Silverdale her request for variance <br />(1123.12), which consists of installing a swimming pool and that the following variance be granted: <br />l. The proposal consists of addition to existing detached garage. <br />The following variances are requested: <br />A special permit to add to a non-conforming buiiding (1165.02). Note: Existing garage is 3 ft. from <br />side yard setback, code requires 5 ft. <br />1. A 30 square foot variance for accessory structures exceeding 20% rear yard coverage (code pernvts <br />690 square ft., applicant shows 720 square ft.), section (1135.02 (d)(2)). <br />2. A variance for installing a gravel access driveway to new garage addition (code requires concrete or <br />bituminous concrete pavement, applicant shows gravel), section <br />(1163.11 (a)). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 section (1165.02), (1135.02 (d)(2)), and (1163.11 (a)). <br />Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. Dennis Weber came <br />forward to be sworn in. Mr. Weber indicated he has an existing 1 car garage and he would like to add <br />on a 2 car garaae to it. The problem is he is only 3 ft. off the side line and he needs to be 5 ft. He <br />mentioned he has a vintage car that is stored in the 1 car garage and he needs to have a 2 car garage for <br />his family cars. Mr. Kremzar asked if another variance would be needed for the extra one inch on the <br />side yard., There was discussion about the total the applicant would need. Mr. Conway said it is an <br />accessory structure, a detached garage, and he would not need another variance. Mr. Maloney pointed <br />out the existing garage was already granted a variance and the 3 ft. was grand-fathered in before. He is <br />11 ft. off the other side so he is all right there. Mr. Maloney asked the applicant about the gravel. He <br />5
