Maloney
Board Of Zoning Appeals, City of North Olmsted, Ohio
From: Concerned Neighbors of Wellington & Westminster Dr.
Re: Request for Variance (1123.12), Tim & Bernadette Campbe1129760 Westminster Dr.
We, the undersigned, would like to formally ohject to this request for an 86 square foot
variance to build an 18 x 12 shed with electricity, and ask that it be denied. We opposed
a prior variance to build an even larger shed, and remain committed to maintaining the
building code in our neighborhood as it stands, with no variances.
Our concerns stem from several facts:
1. A 216 square foot building with electricity on a lot this size is too large to
maintain the beauty and property values of the homes in this development.
2. This shed is going to house a laxge wood working shop with noisy power
equipment and a private business in our residential neighborhood.
3. The codes were implemented to preserve the integrity of a safe neighborhood for
families; they should be maintained for the same reason.
Those of us who live in Cambridge Crossing/Bretton Ridge purchased homes there
because we were interested in a safe, quiet, and attractive family-oriented area. A
building of the size requested by this variance detracts from the overall appearance of the
neighborhood and also compromises the quality of life there due to the noise from the
power equipment and the increased traffic necessary to sustain this business. North
Olmsted has building codes and zoning laws to maintain the family atmosphere in
residential areas, and to limit buildings of this size and nature to appropriate commercial
a.reas. Those codes and laws should protect the homeowners in situations such as this.
Thank you for your e d consideration.
1771,2- ?
???
