Mr. Hunsicker suggested -that there axe 4 regional libraries _ in <br />Cuyahoga County and of'thase branches, North Olmsted will be the secand largest library in the area. <br />" Mr. Hreha questioned if 36,000 square. feet was the maximum square footage the building aould <br />expand. Mr. Hunsicker suggested that the buiiding could be expanded to 40;000 square feet. An <br />unidentified audience member questioned why a basement or second story was not being added.. Mr. <br />Bittinger suggested that they are pricing a basement now and would like to have a 6,000 square foot <br />basement. A big factor is the band that was passed the budget can not exceed the band. Audience <br />member questioned why the fvundation for a second_stozy is not being done noW. Mr. Bittinger <br />reviewed that if the foundation were placed for second story now it would be very costly and effect <br />the overall structure now. Mr. Stalter questioned how the lights wauld effect the residents and if the <br />bus garage would be expanded to the green space area. Mr. Bittinger suggested that he did not know <br />if the garage would be expanded however there will be a walking path. Mr. stalder guestioned, what <br />type of Iights would be used on the sita. Mr. Bittinger indicated that there would be pole lights and <br />'fixtures with control. cutoffs. Mr. Rudehouse questioned haw soon the Iibrary would start and when <br />would it be finished. Mr. Bittinger suggested that the project would start the beginning of 2003 and <br />be campleted early 2004, Nlrs. Lord thanked the a.rchitect and indicated that.Landmarks would like <br />the architect to look at other historic structures. Landmark Cammissioners question the style of <br />gazebo that wili be placed in the green space. Mr. Bittinger suggested that at this time he is not sure <br />what style of gazebo would be constructed. They would like to have it large enough to have small <br />concerts there but not sure. W. Koeth suggested that thought should be given to the front garden <br />havi.ng benches far reading. Mr. Barker vaiced that he is concerned that the gazebo will attract the <br />high school sfiudents and they will congregate at the ga2ebo. The gazebo azea could become a <br />maintenance issue due to children vandalizing, the gazeba and trashing the area. A gentleman from <br />the audience questioned if there would be an increase in the number of volumes available to checkout <br />of the library and does the building meet fxre codes. ,1vIr. Bittinger indicated that trte buildirzg would <br />? have a sprinkler system and rneet all fire requirements. Mrs. Sergi questioned if the library would <br />include not just a dmp-off but also a drive=up window to pick up ordered books, which became <br />available. She alsa questionsd --if the Iibrary would be equipped with family Iaboratories. Mr. <br />Bittinger indicated that there are two family bathroams in the library. The County Library palicy is <br />to not have pick-up windows, as they can not be manned, Mr. Caster questioned traffic cantrol for <br />the area. Mr. Bittinger indicated ttiat "splitting the two entrances controls the traff'ic. Mr. Caster <br />suggested that would be a traf€ic problem as the Butternut Ridge Road entrance is in direct line with <br />the Middle Sehool exit. Mr, Bittinger suggested they could not add a traffic light but would have a <br />three-lane exit. Mr. Koeth thanked the applicants for coming and reviewing the proposal and asked <br />them to step out to the open area to answer further questions from the audience, as the board needed <br />tp move on. Chambers Fpneral Home: 29150 Lorain Raad: <br />Proposal consists of alterations to the existing buiiding to accommodate a fiuneral home: <br />Note: Planning Commission fust reviewed this prapbsal 5/14/02. Architsctural Review: Boazd <br />reviewed the proposal 5/22f02. <br />Chairmara Koeth called aIl xnterested pa.rties forward to review the proposal. Mr. Jeff Grusenmeyer; <br />the Architect came forward to revview the praposal. Mr. Grusenmeyer indicated that he would just <br />address the issues brought up at the last Planning Commissian meeting. Tha parking lot lights have <br />been altered per the request o£the Architectural Review Board: There will be 3•pole Iights along the <br />rear property line with cut-off fixtures and will be 15 feet hzgh. There are, more pale lights placed <br />throughout the site, but each has been piaced ta minimize the amount of liglrt. The second item the
