ROLL CALL: Chairman Raig called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman M. Raig, Board members, B. App, L. Beach, B. Martindale, C. Kilbane and <br />G. Thompson <br />ABSENT: Board member, R. Garland <br />ALSO PRESENT: Clerk of Commissions, D. Rote, Asst. Clerk of Commissions, A. Kilbane <br />II. REVIEVJ AND CORRECTION OF MIN[1TES: The Cultural Arts minutes of December 5, 2001 <br />have been submitted for approval. <br />B. App made a motion to accept the December 5, 2001 minutes as written. The motion was <br />seconded by L. Beach. LTnanimousiy approved. <br />III. NEW BUSINESS: <br />• Review 2002 calendar to determine if any meeting dates need to be changed <br />Mr. Raig indicated he would like to follow the agenda and asked the members to look over the <br />calendar. He asked if there are any meeting dates that need to be moved. 1V1rs. Kilbane pointed <br />out that the first Wednesday in April is spring break, which may be a problem for her and others. <br />Mr. Raig suggested moving that meeting to April lOth. Mr. Thompson said the July 3`a meeting <br />might present a problem as well. Mr. Raig asked if it could be moved to July lOt . Mrs. Rote <br />mentioned that the Board of Zoning Appeals is meeting on July lOth and that is an official <br />hearing. Mr. Thompson suggested moving the meeting to July lst and the board members agreed. <br />Mr. Raig asked if there was any desire to change the meeting start time. The members agreed <br />that a 7:00 p.m. start time would work. Mrs. Kilbane made a motion to change the April 3rd <br />meeting to April lOti' and move the July 3rd meeting to July 1't. The motion was seconded by B. <br />Martindale. iJaaanaaynously approved. <br />o Continue Goals and Objectives Discussion <br />Mr. Raig pointed out that a mission statement has been established. He reviewed notes from the <br />last meeting where they went through goals and objectives such as: develop a plan of action, <br />identify funding and promotion vehicles, education programs and collaboration with the schools, <br />and collaborate with regional groups. It was left that he was going to do some work on it, and <br />that still needs to be done. He will pull it together. <br />Mrs. Martindale indicated she received a call from Roy Garland. Mr. Garland informed her he <br />could not make the meeting but he had information to share. From Columbus, the Ohio <br />Historical Society, in collaboration with Berea, will bring in the Chautauqua Forum. The dates <br />are June 20-23. This event will take place at the tent on the north quad of Baldwin Wallace. <br />Berea is putting forth most of the money, approximately $50,000. It has actors portraying Johnny <br />Appleseed and various people from Ohio history. Another item is, we apparently are going to be <br />the hosts on June 20th of the North Olmsted Chamber of Commerce luncheon, which will be at <br />noon in the Community Cabin. It is open to the public and will be about $7 and consist of a box <br />lunch. Simon Kenton will be the speaker. He speaks on Ohio history.
