' .•,
, ... , ?
maneuver and she doesn't see the board being able to get a laptop. Mrs. Lord requested that the
ininutes reflect that Mr. Barker will present the budget at the next meeting. If that is not in keeping
with any timeline, she has requested that Donna Rote call her or Mr. Barker. Mr. Barker can also e-
mail the proposed budget to Mrs. Lord if time becomes a factor. Mrs. Lord brought up the calendar,
which lists all meetings as the second Monday. The only error she saw was in the key where
Landmarks should be listed as one word, and they meet at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. VanAuken moved to
accept the calendar with the two changes. Mrs. Davis seconded the motion and it was unanimously
approved as amended.
V. COMIVIITTEE REPORTS:
Mrs. Lord will talk with Mr. Lang again who is doing follow up work on the property across the
street from his house and the board needs to know where we are with that in terms of planning.
VI. OLD BUSINESS:
Mrs. Lord said she met with Marge Lawson on Saturday. Mrs. Lord narrowed their discussion to
three topics. The first was, in some manner regarding the library to honor the Stearns name. Mrs.
Lord explained to Mrs. Lawson that even though she submitted maps, they really need to be very
precise in the land location before they talk in detail about it. Mrs. Lord said her next issue seems to
be the family history memorabilia, which is explained in the letter the board received last month.
There are significant people in her family in terms of history but the family she seems to be linked
with in North Olmsted is Stearns. Mrs. Lord said the third interest is genealogy. She is very involved
in the genealogy of her family and so she feels there should be some mechanism to spark interest in
genealogy. Mrs. Lawson has huge charts that could fill walls. Mrs. Lord told her about getting
together with the Mayor, and she told the Mayor about the meeting as well. The Mayor was very
pleased that the board would be following up with this. Mrs. Lord would like any or all of the
members of the commission to be invited to that meeting along with the Mayor and anyone at City
Hall who should be there, perhaps the library staff. Mrs. Lawson is very willing to do that. The
donation brochure was discussed. Mrs. Lord will be in touch with all board members and with the
Mayor to set up a meeting.
VII. ADJOURNMENT:
Mr. Lind made the motion to adjourn, and Mr. Barker seconded. The motion passed unanimously
and Chairman Lord adjourned the meeting at 8:40 p.m.
Addendum: Please remove David Lind's work phone and just leave home phone on the directory.
( B. Lorfl, Chairman ? Asst. Clerk of Commissions, Annie Kilbane
5
