ROLL CALL: Chairman Lord called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. PRESENT: Chairman B. Lord, Board Members; D. Lind, L. VanAuken, K. O'Rourke, M. Davis, P. Bark:er; G. Corell, J. Lang _ ABSEr1T: J. Dailey ALSO :PRESENT: Law Director, J. Dubelko Mrs. Lord suggested they change the, order of the agenda in order to have Mr. Dubelko swear in the newest member of the Landmarks Comrriission, Mr. Joe Lang. At the last meeting, they received the resignation of Mr. Smeraldi, after many years of serving the commission so well. She said they are very pleased that Council has seen fit to appoint Mr. Lang to the Landmarks Commission. Mr. Dubelko then swore in Mr. Lang. II. REVEEW AND CORRECTION OF MINTJTES: The Landmarks Commission minutes of the March 11, 2002 rneeting have been submitted for approval. L. VanAuken made a motion to approve the minutes as submitted. The motion was seconded by M. Davis and unanimously approved. IIT NEW FjUSINESS: ? Doisg Ford to addYess the commission on moving a house that is on the site of the new library Mr:;. Lord indicated Mr. Ford was interested in one of the homes being taken for the library. She said he asked to address the cominission on his'ideas for moving the house and saving it from demolition. He has had to change his decision. 5he suagested that Mr. Lang fill everyone in, in case they did not hear the information before the meeting got started. Mr. Lang indicated Mr. Ford had done research on -two possibilities. The first being to move the house to a lot for two homes on Kennedy Ridge. Secondly, if the house met certain criteria and could be placed on the OHI in a timely fashion, it may qualify for funds to assist in the move. He said in the meantime Mr. Ford had spoken to Mr. Dubelko, the Law Director, and Mr. Thomas, the Service Director, to gain access to the house so he can see if it would be satisfactory to live in. He visited the house last week and determined it was not satisfactory for his needs. Mr. Ford appeared tonight prior to the meeting to request he be removed frorn the agenda for that reason. Mrs. O'Rourke asked which house he was interested in. Mr. Lang indicated it is the very large gray house immediately across from the middle school. There was disrussion of houses in that area. Mrs. O'Rourke asked about the cost of the house. Mr. Lang said the high-end estimate of moving it on Butternut Ridge, up to the area around. Kennedy Ridge, was $25,000. That was just for moving it and placing it in a prepared area. Mrs. Lord said that Mr. Ford indicated there are a lot of things inside the home that made it appealing. Mrs. Lord asked Mr. Dubelko what the estimated demolition time might be (Mr. Dubelko could not be heard on the tape as he iNas in the back of the room). Mrs. Lord said if anyone has contacts, or -knows anyone who might wairt to hear this story, share it now. She pointed out if there are salvage rights, it would have to be negotiated. Mr. Dubelko shared further information about the city's rights. Mrs. Lord said they have heard many different dates for when construction will actually start on the library. She asked if Mr. Dubelko had any dates (Mr. Dubelko could not be heard on the tape). Mrs. Lord pointed out that the Landmarks Commission had beeri asked on several occasions to be a part of talks with the arclutect on the project because of the historic nature of the whole triangle area.
