Review of Self-Guided Walking Tour
? Mrs. Lord mentioned the self-guided walking tour that they did for the bicentennial. She realized
when re-typing some of the information that it needs to be updated. She said there are two
possibilities. They could use it as the nucleus for a Butternut tour, and improve it. She will have the
clerk make copies so everyone can review it. It has been suggested for years that they reprint the self-
guided tour but she would not be comfortable printing it as it is. She said a lot of information could
be added on the roads, and a brief history could be included. Addresses need to be verified. The
brochure style needs to be updated. Mrs. Lord added it could be done as a way to promote the
Landmarks Commission as well. A list of OHI properties in North Olmsted would be good to include.
They would want to include all the historic recognition programs. Perhaps they could include
information about CLG grants. It would be a great way to promote the fact that there are some things
available to the community. The middle school would need to be added. There is a lot to include in
the name of educating the public in order to preserve and protect the heritage of this community.
Tl7ere was discussion of house tours and liability issues. It was decided that the board will review the
information and put the project on the agenda for the August meeting.
Work Schedule for office
? Mrs. Lord asked if anyone was willing to devote time to organizing the office for Landmarks. She
mentioned that the Landmarks computer is stored on the file cabinet. They need to find out about the
computer and where their information is stored. Mr. Lang indicated he spoke with Don Copeland
recently, Mr. Copeland informed him the computer was being delivered that day or the following day
and it would be progammed with all of the software that was in the old computer. Everything that is
in the new one is compatible with what was entered in the old system. The computer is 25%
Landmarks. Mrs. Davis said if there is any money left in the budget at the end of the year, they could
re-direct it to Mr. Copeland for the computer. Mrs. Lord said they should be certain at the November
meeting to have that issue on the agenda. Chairman Lord mentioned they need to set aside some time
to get things in order. She said she would like the board members to give her a couple of Saturdays
over the next two months and she believes they could get it organized. Nlrs. Lord indicated she could
be available on July 20th. Mr. Corell said he would also be available and they agreed to meet from
9:30-11:00. Mr. Dubowski and Mrs. Davis indicated they could help out on August 10t'.
VII. ADJOURNMENT: Chairman Lord adjourned the meeting at 8:50 p.m.
?-? "%f
' ha} n, Betty Lorc? Date ?
