?t <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE" <br />BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />MINUTES - JULY 9, 2003 <br />1. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Maloney called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman J. Maloney, Board members W. Kremzar, and T. Kelly <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director B. O'IVlalley, Building Commissioner D. Conway, <br />and Clerk of Commissions D. Rote. <br />ABSENT: Board member; N. Sergi and J. Konold. <br />II. REVIEW AND COItRECTION OF 1VIINUTE5: <br />The Board of Zoning Appeals minutes of June 5, 2003 were submitted for approval. <br />T. Kelley motioned to approve the Boarcl of Zoning Appeals minutes dated June 5, 2003 <br />as submitted. W. Kremzar seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. <br />Chairman Maloney indicated there were 11 cases 2 requiring special permits and 18 variances <br />requested. The Chairman advised that the board members have viewed the premises involved <br />for each case. Three votes are required for approval, as there are only three board members <br />present applicants may request their case be carried over to the August meeting. In addition <br />each case will be judged on the physical situation peculiar to itself, so that in no way is a <br />judgment rendered considered to be a general policy judgment affecting properties and like <br />situations elsewhere. <br />Chairinan Maloney advised everyone present that the Vitamin Shop and Remington College <br />withdrew their request until the August Board of Zoning Appeals ineeting. <br />III. BUILDIleTG DEPARTIVIENT REQUESTS: <br />1). Alan Brunner; 5295 Dover Center Road: WRD 4 <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of 2 story addition to existing <br />structure with garage, also adding lean to one side of existing garage. <br />The following variance is requested: <br />l. A 858 square foot variance for total square footage of garages, (code permits 750 sq ft, <br />applicant shows 1,608 sq ft), section (1135.02 (D (3)). <br />2. A 3 foot variance for height of lean to (accessory structure), (code permits 12', applicant <br />show 15 ft), section (1135.02 (d) (3)). <br />Which is in violation of Ord. 90-125 sections (1135.02 O (3)) &(1135.02 (d) (3)). <br />Chairman Maloney called all interested parties forward to review the request. Mr. Brunner <br />the owner and Mr. Busser a neighbor each came forward to be sworn in and address the <br />request. 1VIr. Brunner would like to add an addition to the home to include a master bedroom, <br />a garage and a lean to on the existing barn. Mr. Busser questioned if the applicant was going <br />to have a business on the site. Mr. Brunner assured the neighbor that there would be no <br />business on the site and that his lot was two acres and could accommodate the addition size. <br />W. Krernzar motion to grant Alan Brunner of 5295 Dover Center Road his request for <br />variance (1123.12), which consists of a 2-story addition to the existing structure, a new <br />1
