Tony Mancuso 27260 Butternut Ridge Road - Resident is seeking permit to build a deck
Mrs. Mancuso addressed the board and explained they are looking for a simple deck that is 12x16
square. There is a back bedroom window they would have to change. Mr. Barker asked if she has a
sketch or drawing. Mrs. Mancuso replied she has a rough drawing and pointed out it is a bungalow and
the deck would be on the back of the house. Mr. Barker asked if it would be visible from the front of
the house. Mrs. Mancuso said it would not be visible from Butternut or pover. Mr. Barker asked what
type of wood will be used. Mrs. Mancuso said they are favoring a composite wood with a flat stain,
which would match their shed. Mr. Lang said he drove by the house and if you look at the home from
the front, the rear yard is not visible.
J. Lang made a motion to grant a certifacate of appropriateness to the Mancuso's for the building
of a deck on the rear of their home, to be 12x16 feet. The motion was seconded by G. COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Mrs. Lord mentioned that Mr. Lang was selected to chair the committee for homecoming to get the
board's display in place. At the last meeting they discussed that they want to show case two properties
that are highly visible to the community that they feel are at risk. Those are the Barton Road
Congregational Church and Rebecca's Floral. It was the board's decision that they would discuss
putting a committee together. She referred to the previous meeting minutes. Mr. Lang said that
Rebecca from the floral shop has a photograph that is a duplicate of a photograph from the North
Olmsted Historical Society. It is from 1902 or 1906. He said she was going to make a copy of that
photo for all who asked. There was further discussion about the history of the building. Mr. Lang said
that during the month of July he will be in and out of town because of a family wedding. He will
actually be in and out of town in August as well. He said he will be in communication with the
individuals that are privy to information regarding the two buildings to show case at homecoming.
