ROLL CALL: Vice Chairman Lord called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: B. Lord, P. Barker, T. Dubowski, M. Davis, and J. Dailey <br />ABSENT: J. Lang, K. O'Rourke, L. VanAuken, and G. Corell <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MIN-[JTES: The Landmarks Commission minutes from the <br />meeting of February 10, 2003 have been submitted for approval. <br />P. Barker made a motion to approve the minutes as submitted. The motion was seconded by M. Davis <br />and unanimously approved. <br />III. RECEPTION OF VISITORS: <br />Barbara & Dennis Brown <br />IV. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Barbara & Dennis Brown, 5978 Columbia Road, Application for Historic Recognition Program <br />NOTE: The audiotape did not function properly during the first portion of the meeting. <br />V. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />• WestLife article regarding Heritage Home Loan Program in Bay Village <br />• Letter froin Cleveland Restoration Society regarding Heritage Home Loan Program <br />• Copy of first minor change request/approval <br />• Memo froin Councilman Gareau soliciting applications for Landmarks Commission <br />• CLG information packet <br />Mrs. Lord indicated the board members will review the CLG material and it will be an agenda item <br />for the meeting next month. <br />• Perspectives <br />• The Alliance Review <br />• OAHSM Outstanding Achievement Awards brochure <br />VI. COlVIlVIITTEE REPORTS: Mrs. Lord said they now have the report for homes on Butternut. She said <br />they discussed this at the last meeting and Mr. Dailey pulled up the addresses for the meinbers. She <br />said if the board members are gathering information, this is a work sheet to help them in that task. She <br />asked if it contains the things needed to do the job. Mr. Barker said most of the information can be <br />gathered from what Mr. Dailey submitted. Mrs. Lord indicated they can begin with that information <br />and then start some dialogue with a family in the historic district, either by phone or at the door. She <br />said there are e-mail addresses listed there too, which is now an easy way to communicate with people. <br />Mrs. Davis brought up the line in the report that mentions hearsay. Mrs. Lord said Mr. Brown's <br />situation is a prime example, as his application is based on a lot of hearsay. The job then is to prove it, <br />but the application gives you more to work with. She indicated everyone should have a copy of the <br />narratives from the original self-guided tour. She mentioned the information from MetroScan, which <br />lists the permanent parcel numbers. That number is very important for anything from 1940 forward. <br />The lot number has to be used for anything prior to 1940. Mrs. Lord indicated they discussed dividing <br />the list so all the members would have a set number of people to contact. Mr. Barker suggested
