N w 1 * <br />. <br />Law Department Comments: <br />Mr. O'Malley questioned if the existing light poles would be remaining or if new light poles would <br />be installed and not consistent to the current code. He recommend the Architectural Review Board <br />assist with their expertise regarding the Brookpark Road side of the building as there are a lot of <br />existing architectural issues. <br />W. Spalding motioned to approve Remington College of 2635 Great Northern Shopping <br />Center which consists of new exterior improvements, new masonry covered entrance to the <br />existing Top's building to accommodate a post secondary school. The Architectural Review <br />Board will review the proposal and the applicant will go to Board of Zoning Appeals for the <br />variance regarding light poles. Planning Commission recommends that the applicant comply <br />with the current lighting codes. The entire landscaping areas on the lot will be irrigated. This <br />approval is subject to the Architectural Review Boards approval as well as Board of Zoning <br />Appeals decision. J. Lasko seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. Note: at <br />this point in the meeting, quite a bit of discussion took place regarding the existing lighting. The <br />applicants were strongly advised to use a type of light fixture similar to the lights in front of Panera <br />Bread and the new proposed Jared's. The clerk informed the applicants that they would go before <br />Board of Zoning Appeals on June 5, 2003, at 7:30 p.m. and the Architectural Review Board June 18, <br />2003 at 5:30 p.m. <br />5. The Home Depot; 26241 Brookpark Road: <br />Proposal consists of storage area enclosed by fence behind the existing garden center. <br />Acting Chairman Spalding called all interested parties forward to review the proposal. Mr. lee the <br />architect representing Home Depot came forward to review the proposal. <br />Applicants Presentation: <br />Mr. Lee indicated that they would like a storage area behind the existing garden center. The <br />proposed area would not be accessible to the general public, it will be used to organize the seasonal <br />items and clean up the back of the store. The clerk announced that the condominium owners were <br />not given legal notice. Mr. O'Malley advised the Planning Commission to table the issues until the <br />condominium residents receive notice and a chance to be present. <br />W. Spalding motioned to table The Home Depot of 26241 Brookpark Road until meeting next <br />when proper notices are released. S. Hoff-Smith seconded the motion, which was unanimously <br />approved. <br />VII. COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />2. Cuyahoga CountV Planning Commissions Proposed work program packet received. <br />Mr. Spalding advised that the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission packet would be tabled until <br />next meeting. <br />V1II. ADJOURNIVENT: <br />W. Spalding motioned to excuse the absences of Chairman Koeth and adjourn the meeting. K. <br />O'Rourke seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved.
