The board questioned the <br />rope lighting and questioned why it was not called out on the Architectural Review Board <br />application sheet. Mr. Ports stated he did not see it on the plan when he was filling it out. <br />The architect stated that a red 3/8" accent lighting line will run along the top framing of the <br />roof. Mr. Yager did not believe any other establishments in the strip had neon rope lighting. <br />Mr. Rymarczyk stated that a variance would not be necessary if the neon rope lighting was <br />eliminated. Mr. Yager also voiced he was against the neon rope lighting, and would rather <br />recommend three wall signs installed rather than depend on only "one" to clarify the location <br />of the restaurant. Mr. Baum, said that an extreme amount of funds had been used changing <br />plans to accommodate the City's demands, but they would remove the neon rope lighting <br />from the building. Mr. Yager asked about the height of the pole lights and if there was any <br />effort put forth to match the areas existing light fixtures. He felt that Developer's Diversitied <br />needs to enforce a uniform consistency. Overall it is a very nice proposal and thinks it will be <br />successful as it indeed looks like a barbeque establishment. <br />J. Lasko moved to approve Famous Davis Barbeque of 26410 Great Northern Shopping <br />Center their proposal which consists of a new portico at the entry and cosmetic work on <br />egterior walls with the following stipulations. 1). Full cut off fixtures be installed to the <br />lighting design and the lighting schematic/photometric plan for the property is to code. <br />2). Rope lighting as originally proposed on plans will be eliminated from the exterior <br />perimeter of the building. 3). Light fixtures be consistent with the figtures that are in <br />place along the area of the shopping center dealing with Key Bank, Remington College, <br />and Panera Bread. 4). Landscaping additions as recommended by Architectural Review <br />Board and incorporated in the revised plans submitted at this evening. 5). There will be <br />no opaque lighting to exist in canopies. T. Hreha seconded the motion which was <br />unanimously approved. <br />VII. COMNIITTEE REPORTS <br />Planning Director Wenger bought books for the planning commission as well as the Board of <br />Zoning Appeals that she felt would be of interest. Some of the material from these books will <br />be used for the September 18th workshop. She reminded the committee that these are the <br />property of the City and must be returned upon a commissioner's appointment ending or <br />resignation. Mr. Yager also reported that the Master Plan Steering Committee is starting to <br />make headway. Ms. Wenger stated a Master Plan Steering Committee meeting is scheduled <br />for August l lth, September 15th ancl a public meeting for September 29t''. <br />VIII. ADJOURNMENT <br />M. Yager moved to excuse the absence of Chairman Koeth and adjourn the meeting at <br />8:45 pm. J.
